Today called for a 7*3 @ 225 with AMRAP

I hit a pretty easy 11 for the AMRAP after the main volume work so feeling very good.

Followed up with some overload work with the slinger including singles at 275, 305 and 315.

315 is starting to feel very normal in my hands now. Between static holds, heavy decline and slingshot work I'm dialing it in for that big 3 wheel milestone.

Today called for a 7*3 @ 305 but I pulled a gymbro and did 315 because it looks cooler.

Did all warmup and my first couple of sets beltless and hit an easy 5 for my AMRAP. Overall good day, especially given my mood when I got there. It was 💩. Pretty pleased that my bar speed at 315 looks on par with my pause squats at 235 2 days ago.

Turning my #juggernaut deload into some pause squats to get in a little extra work. 3's wave begins Monday and sh*t is getting real.

My deadlift and bench amrap are both above my current all time 1RM 😂 for realization phase. I don't do maxes often though and those are well over a year old.

I'm bulking a little bit lately and yes, it's a bit of a dirty bulk. Still staying somewhat lean but not quite as lean as I'm used to running. Dialing the diet in now to drop a couple of lbs to lean out. Summer season is finally here.

Deload week meets crappie fishing. Had a great night on the lake with my uncle. We both got our limits. Just under 3lbs of crappie after cleaning so enough for a good fish fry.

#nevertoolate for me, fitness and lifting are not as much about what you can see as they are about the things you can't.
I never went to the gym to lose weight. I won that battle long before I picked up a weight. Losing weight is a nutritional issue and beyond ensuring you're getting sufficient and good quality fuel doesn't need to be the defining factor in what you do at the gym.

The gym for me has always been about some form of athletic performance whether it is just the strength to ride my sport bike longer or the stamina to hang with my kids. Separating the gym from body image issues is one of the best choices I ever made. I eat for performance now. Not because I'm trying to restrict myself but because I want to get better.

Long story short. Change the WHY you are working out. Don't make it about body image. Do what makes you better at your daily tasks or pick a powerlifting goal or a mile time you want to hit. The rest will come along with it. You'll get healthier as a result. You might lose weight, you might not but you'll be stronger and healthier both physically and mentally for it.
