#marchbookstagram18 | Day 12 - Diverse Authors
.
These are some of my all-time favorite books, all with diverse authors! Benjamin Alire Sรกenz is gay and Mexican, Angie Thomas is black, Alison Bechdel is a lesbian, and Corinne Duyvis is autistic (and maybe bi I can't remember)
.
Also, what's the best time of the day to post? I'm curious as to how that would affect how many likes I got
.
.
Tag time! I was tagged by @marcothebookworm to do the #aestheticallypleasing book tag! ๐Ÿ“š

#marchbookstagram18 | Day 9 - Recently Purchased
.
These are actually part of a chunk of 7 books I bought recently, but these are the ones I'm most excited to read!
.
.
I finished Murder on the Orient Express a couple days ago. I actually really enjoyed it. I had been slogging through the first 40 or so pages but after that, I couldn't put it down! I finished the remaining 200+ pages that night. The thing that's the funniest to me is that I put the book down and was complaining to my mom about how boring it was and when I picked it up again I found that literally two paragraphs later was when the man got murdered. .
.
.
Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Which one should I start with?

#marchbookstagram18 | Day 8 - Forest Setting
.
I feel like The Cruel Prince has a forest setting but I'm not 100% sure since I haven't read it... I feel like someone's mentioned that though. And idk if In The Woods is specifically /forest/ because to me that have more whimsical, pleasant connotations but it does, as the title suggest, feature a large gathering of trees so I'm showing it. Also, I started Ash ages ago and never finished it and I'm fairly certain there's a forest setting but not 100% sure whoops. .
.
.
Tag time! I was tagged by @whatireadfor to do the #mybookishaddictions tag. Also I always tag the same people but I don't know a lot of people yet. .
๐Ÿ“šCurrent read: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
๐Ÿ“šFirst read of 2018: A Little Book of Language by David Crystal
๐Ÿ“šA book you would take on vacation: this question kind of confuses me because there's not a specific type of book I'd take on vacation; I just take whatever I'm currently reading
๐Ÿ“šGood book to screen adaptation: Idk actually! Maybe Harry Potter?

#marchbookstagram18 | Day 6 - Gifted From a Friend
.
.
This book has been on my #TBR forever! My friend snagged me a copy when they were at a bargain book sale which I'm super happy about. This book is so tiny too it's almost the size of my hand.
.
.
Sorry I haven't been posting! I've been super burnt out and haven't really had the energy to do much. I'm feeling better now though. .
.
I'm still not super far into Murder on the Orient Express. It's been hard for me to get into because of the lack of energy I mentioned before, and at the moment it's not super interesting. I'm fairly certain it will pick up soon. I would read some of It's Not Like It's a Secret but I'm reading it with my friend and I'm waiting for her to catch up. .
.
Have you read Fried Green Tomatoes? If so, what did you think? Also, if you've read Murder on the Orient Express, does it start to pick up more after a few chapters?

Day 2 - Books + Snack
.
.
Murder on the Orient Express is a little bit slow-going right now but I'm hopeful it'll pick it up soon! Also disclaimer I don't usually eat Lays this was just the only snack food I could find.....
.
.
.
Tag time! I was tagged by @e_ to do #thattbrbooktag ! Thanks!

I changed which March challenge I was going to do at the last minute, so I ended up already posting the first challenge yesterday. So today I'm just posting about the book I'm most excited to pick up and also doing a tag! (Also, I'm seeing how I like this background and who knows? This might be an actual theme...)
.
.
@marcothebookworm tagged me in the #aroundtheworldbooktag ! Thank you!
.
๐ŸŒŽOlympia/Hercules (book you struggled to complete): I actually can't really think of a book! If I end up starting to slog through I usually just DNF it

Overview of all the books I read this month! (Also, I know I have tags to do but this post is going to be long enough already so I'll get to them later!!)
.
.
(Not pictured) One of Us Is Lying
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ.5/5
This book wasn't my favorite, but it was still enjoyable enough to get me out of my reading slump. I didn't really care about the characters, but the plot was interesting enough to keep me hooked. I actually sort of predicted the ending towards the beginning of the book but then I was like no that's kind of stupid they wouldn't do that but sure enough, they did! (Although I will say the actual execution wasn't stupid). .
.
.
The Penderwicks
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ/5
I was having a hard time so I reread one of my favorite childhood books! It was just as good as I remembered it, which was a relief, given that that hasn't always been the case. .
.
.
Delusions of Gender
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ/5
This book was so interesting! I'm not typically one for nonfiction but I was super into it the entire time. .
.
.
The Joy Luck Club
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ/5
This book was so eye-opening. I had never read anything like this before. I highly recommend it if you want to learn about Chinese culture and experiences from an actual Chinese person in novel form. .
.
.
The Hate U Give
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ/5
This book was incredible! Easily one of my favorites of all-time. Another eye-opening and original book. Highly recommend!
.
.
In the Company of Women
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ/5
This book was a fun collection of interviews of women who owned their own companies. My favorite part about reading it was when I was like damn that lady looks gay and then she talks about her wife. .
.
.
Even if six books isn't a lot for most people, I'm still really proud of myself! I haven't read that much since middle school because of depression so I'm so happy I'm coming out of that slump ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

My March TBR! Hoping to at least get through all of these next month, maybe another book depending on how fast I'm reading!
.
.
The books:
* The Essential Dykes to Watch Out For
* Murder on the Orient Express
* Everything Leads to You
* Nice Jewish Girls: A Lesbian Anthology
* The Abyss Surrounds Us
.
.
Some of these books have been on my TBR for ages, while others I picked up pretty recently. I'm sticking true to my brand with only one of the books not being gay. .
.
.
What books are on your March TBR's? Are any of these books you've read or would like to read?

Omg you guys. This book is sooo good! I had so much fun reading it with my friend @lesbiannovelist and we finished it a lot more quickly than anticipated!
.
.
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ/5
This book is easily one of my favorite books of all time. It was so well-written and had such an important message. The main character, Starr, was so realistic and likable! I cared so much about her. This book made me laugh and it made me cry and it made me mad and just ahhhhh I can't express how much I love this book!! I really loved the writing style too. It actually felt like a teen was talking, and it wasn't like a middle-aged person taking a guess as to what teens sound like and making the language so over the top. I was hooked from the very beginning! Usually it takes me a few chapters or so to really get into a book but with this one I loved it almost immediately! This book explored heavy topics in an accessible way and is such an important and worthwhile read. .
.
.
Sorry this review is so all over the place I just have so many feelings that I can't be coherent! Everyone needs to read this book omg. .
.
.
Have any of you read this book? What did you think?
.
.
.

All the books I'm currently reading! Hoping to finish them all by the end of the month, and given the length and enjoyment factors of the books, I definitely expect to!
.
.
I'm absolutely loving The Hate U Give! I'm only five chapters in but it's already gotten me hooked! I'd be tearing through it if I wasn't doing an informal buddy read of with my friend @lesbiannovelist. .
.
.
In the Company of Women and The Kite and the String aren't as interesting to me, but they're still nice to read! In the Company of Women is a series of interviews with various women who own businesses. The Kite and the String is a book about writing by an author who's in her 70's and has loved writing her whole life, so I imagine that there'll be really good advice!
.
.
.
On a LARP is still up in the air right now since I've barely started it since I've been giving more attention to other books, but I anticipate that once I actually sit down and read it that it'll be a quick read!

I went into Barnes and Noble with the intention of buying one book and instead bought seven..... Luckily I still have a bunch of Christmas money from my grandmother!
.
.
I started watching #booktube videos and it definitely hasn't helped my self control... I kept seeing books that had been highly recommended and kept picking them up! There were actually two more I was planning on getting (Scythe and We Are Okay) but I put them back in exchange for others. .
.
Have you guys read any of these books I picked up? What did you think?

It took me waaaay to long to read this book but I finally finished it last night!! I had only been reading it during reflective practice at school so it was only being read for ~40 minutes a week, and there's just so much information it took me longer to process everything (the bibliography is EIGHTY-TWO pages). But, my friend who started reading it and loved it inspired me to push through. .
.
๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ/5
This book was honestly incredible. It was super well-researched but wasn't written in highly academic language, and the content covered was simply fascinating. The author spent 239 pages debunking all the layers of the myth that men and women's brain are inherently different. There were so many interesting studies references, such as one proving whether or not women were more empathetic than men, or seeing which toys babies and toddlers were more drawn towards. I always thought that men and women's brain were just the same, but I hadn't looked into the why all that much. Now I have lots of studies to back me up if I ever get into an argument! Highly recommend even if you don't read much nonfiction; this book is worth the read. .
