Greetings, I'm still doing my #rgotrilogy theme off and on where I look at gaming trios and today's pick goes to Metal Gear Solid. Published by Konami, Metal Gear Solid is a highly acclaimed stealth action series by legendary game designer Hideo Kojima that first began on the MSX home computer and then moved onto the Nintendo Entertainment System way back in 1987. He then graced us with the first Metal Gear Solid on the original PlayStation in 1998. The first MGS was ahead of its time in terms of graphics, storytelling and gameplay. The series is well known for its stealth gameplay where you must traverse the stage without being seen and not enter an enemies' field of vision. Plot revelations are usually given via long speeches by NPCs and through your Codec radio a commanding officer. The series is also well known for its memorable and often comical bosses. You primarily play as protagonist Solid Snake, an agent for FOXHOUND. Metal Gear Solid 2 was released on the PlayStation 2 in early 2001 and was controversial for only having Snake be playable in the opening segment and playing as new character Raiden through the main game. Reception of his character was mixed by fans. Finally there's Metal Gear Solid 3, a prequel to the entire series and takes place during the Cold War in the 1960s, where you play as the original Snake who would go on to become Big Boss. I love this series, so much, especially the first 3. Believe it or not I haven't played too much of MGS 4 of 5. In my opinion, Metal Gear Solid 3 is on the shortlist of best game ever made, it's a work of art. The storytelling, the graphics and gameplay are all top notch, especially for the PlayStation 2. Check these games out if for some reason you haven't played these. which probably isn't a lot of you.
