I will not be competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics... After surviving U.S. Team Trials in October, I went on to compete for the U.S. National Team in 7 World Cup races throughout November, December, and January... The world rankings after those 7 races determined the 20 sleds that will get to compete this month in the Olympic Games. At the time of the Olympic selection, I was ranked 9th in the world, but the Olympic quotas are designed to include sleds from a wide variety of countries, even if they aren’t the world’s best. Therefore, my sled was left out of the Games.
This was an extremely close and hard fought battle. I gave it everything that I had but it didn’t work out. I’m trusting that God will use this loss for greater things as I continue to find my joy in Him.
Thank you for all the love and support on this journey! We were in this together! (I have been refraining from social media and plan to stay off for a little bit longer, so please understand if I don’t respond to messages timely).
