Working on deadlift technique with @reidengland -
This was 8x2 at 85%

Things are going to break down as the percentage gets higher, but we still try to lift perfectly everytime.

When things get heavy we also tend to get lazy with our technique sometimes, just because it HURTS.

On this day Reid was not pulling the bar in tight enough on the first few sets, and that changes the technique. After a few sets it was just heavy and pretty brutal, so his body didn’t want to listen to what his mind was telling him for positioning.

There was still too much of a forward lean and the hips were jumping up, but again that is expected at this intensity after 5+ sets.

Rack pulls... I've never done them so I felt like I was doing everything wrong. I did 5×3 at 465, singles at 475, 485, 495 and 500. Falowed up by front squats at 255, and some weighted leg hamstring swinging things. Reid is a close grip bencher and enjoys doing pin press variations for both bench and military Press. -
Because he is a close grip bencher, yet his elbows sit fairly wide, he has a lot of shoulder involvement in the lift. By doing pin presses like this it helps take away some of the stress from the shoulders while still developing a good bench.

Try pin presses where you stop and press from your weakest point. If you’re weakest point is the bottom of the lift, then just do pause presses.
