“I am exactly seven years old. I was born in Somalia. I am in Germany, for almost one year now and I like it here. My sister and I love to play and we both love Frozen. I am learning German in school and I like it. My biggest dream is to own a bike one day. Here at the facility, we do have bikes but I want my own bike. Maybe then, if I bike really fast, I will be able to fly.”

Marianne is from Somalia and lives in Berlin, Germany, where she likes school and learning.

Mustafa and Mohammad are patient and nurse, but also friends.
.
Patient Mustafa al-Qabsh, 43, came to Jordan three years ago from Yemen. He has acute kidney failure and has to undergo dialysis three times a week. .
As a result of health complications, there was also a dangerous build-up of water in his lungs and Mustafa has had to have a chest tube inserted to extract the excess water. .
Department nurse Mohammad Rifayi, 50, has clearly struck up a chord with Mustafa and quickly came over for a photo.
.
We are working with local partner Jordan Health Aid Society (JHAS) to make sure vulnerable refugees receive the healthcare they need.

Usal (right) fled the town of Al Qa'im with her two sisters (pictured), her three children and other family members before the Iraq government announced a military operation to retake the area from the Islamic State group early in October. Her husband was detained by IS almost one year ago and she hasn't seen him since.

Over 10,000 people have arrived to #displacement #camps close to #Ramadi, #Anbar province, since the beginning of October. We provide #emergency #aid to these people.

This adorable little boy’s mum, Roshida, fled violence in #Myanmar and is now living as a #refugee in #Bangladesh. She gave birth to him at #MSF’s #Kutupalong health facility on New Year’s Day. Unfortunately, she was suffering from a life threatening condition pre-eclamsia. She is now recovering in hospital and feeling much better.
When we asked Roshida what she hopes for her as yet unnamed son’s future she said “I want him to go to school and study a lot. It would be great if he could be teacher or doctor”. Today we’re sharing the stories of the first 2018 babies born in #MSF maternities worldwide. Follow our stories for more

“I was taking an exam the day I left. I went straight from the university, in the clothes I was wearing. I wanted to stay alive and complete my education.”
.
Jacob has been forced to flee South Sudan twice in his life, but never renounced his ultimate goal: to finish school and obtain a degree that would allow him to help his community. At 32, he graduated as an economist from Gambela University, and now looks forward to pursuing a masters degree, hoping that when peace is restored in South Sudan, he can contribute to rebuilding his country.
.
“When I return home to South Sudan I can help the community and the country. We need resources to be distributed equally, with a plan and programme. The key areas that need more inclusion need to be identified so that they benefit the communities and nation as a whole. This is how I can, as an economist, contribute to rebuilding my country.”
.
Jacob received a DAFI scholarship from the German government which helped to pay for the fees and books: “Going to university is very important; education is a tool to change the world. It is the best way to create more understanding amongst people and a sense of cooperation.” —————————————————-
Since 2000, 900 young refugees in Ethiopia have been able to say yes to their future through the DAFI university scholarship programme sponsored by the German Government. Dusting off dreams of becoming doctors, engineers, teachers or lawyers, and setting them on a path to thrive as the future change-makers of their countries of origin or asylum.
.
In 2016 this was boosted by the Ethiopian Government's significant changes to pledges to improve opportunities for their 900,000 refugees, include increasing education enrolment and providing university graduates with work permits.

"My biggest wish for 2018 is peace. Only peace can help Yemenis rebuild what this war has made of our lovely country. Next year I wish to talk about how #peace has saved the lives of Yemenis and interview displaced people after they returned to their homes...And I wish that the world would pay more attention not only to #Yemen, but also to other forgotten crises on this planet. The more we believe in humanity, the less conflicts and hatred will take over." CARE Yemen's Abdulhakim Al-Ansi shares his hopes for the country in 2018 #WithYemen #Peacein2018 #NewYear

“I want to give something back to my community,” says Saw Lweh Nay Moo, who has been displaced himself from his home village in South Myanmar, when was little. The 30-year-old still remembers burnt down houses, killed animals and the fear that the soldiers would come back. Today, he is working to ensure the rights of displaced people in Myanmar & helping them obtain an education, work and property, so that they can have independent lives. Thank you for your important work, Saw!

Morsheda, 12, and her 10-month-old niece, Nisma, go for a walk in the early morning at Kutupalong camp to warm up from the cold inside their shelter.
.
The monsoon season in southern Bangladesh has ended and temperatures will soon drop. The average low for January is 15 degrees celsius. While that temperature is moderate compared to many other regions, the lack of adequate clothing and shelter insulation makes refugees vulnerable to even slight declines in temperatures, especially at night.
.
Children - who are 55% of the Rohingya refugee population - are particularly at risk, as are women and girls, who represent more than half of all refugees in Bangladesh.
