My right to disagree is as patriotic as your right to agree. Through these lips, I shout my own personal beliefs and shut them to hear the opinions of others. One cannot speak without listening. And one cannot forget the privilege it is to argue without risk, the love expended for our rebuttals, and the loss known by many so we can always verbally attack and inform. This July 4th, please remember the United States is not a president, but a people who work to change. Respect those who have fought for you, because our flag is the symbol of them, not our president. Remember, the perfect argument respects the differentiating opinion, knows when to speak and when to listen, as our founding fathers imagined and more-or-less, mainly less for our second president, practiced in the continental congress. That's how we created America, raised it to what it is, and continue to nurture it for its full potential.
Thank you to the men and women who fought, lost, and continue to stand by our flag so I can write this post.
Happy July 4th. 🇺🇸
