A monitor lizard had entered a hospital premises where it was trapped in a shutter/ grill while trying to chase its prey or while passing by.
The lizards half body was trapped in the cavity of the shutter/grill due to which it was unable to move back and could not pass from the cavity as its middle body was bigger than the cavity.
Within no time the responsible security reported the matter to Vicky Gite who informed me.
The rescue site was next to my residence and luckily I was around, soon reached the spot where few more team members joined to help and Hiren volunteered to assist me in initiating the rescue.
The rescue operation was completed within next tem minutes where we safely removed the reptile.
The monitor lizard was examined and later released back to its nearest natural habitat after following the necessary protocols with the forest department.

Two awareness sessions conducted in Devi Pada and Bhuri Khan Pada.

1) Devi Pada- 21 people attended. Many women weren't present because they had gone for filling water. But they will have information passed on to them.

2) Bhuri Khan Pada- Around 28 people attended. Majority women. They said no snake bites have happened.

Correct & necessary information was passed on to them. Snakes are present in these 2 Padas but no snake bite has occured except just one in Devi Pada which was treated properly.
By our members Nirav Shah and Adwait jadhav

They are happy with our initiative and the zero bites campaign and below are the contacts for ER team.

A crititaly injured Egale Owl was rescued by the Vikhramgad Range of the Forest Department and admitted to Thane SPCA where we immediately began the initial first aid and treatment.
After allowing it to stabilize for a day it was taken to Avian expert Dr. Rina Dev's clinic facility at Bandra in Mumbai where it was further treated and kept under observation.
It was observed that the injury was critical and an amputation surgery was suggested to save the birds life which was scheduled after a day.
The surgery was successfully performed yesterday by Dr. Rina and her team, the owl is better than before now and kept under observation and further treatment.
The owl wont be able to fly again and will be shifted to a rehab facility for lifetime care later.
