💬 Let's take a moment to talk about sanitation. We see many people feeding their pets on different surfaces; towels, blankets, beds, crates, tile, shower curtains, outdoors, bathtubs, etc. All of these surfaces have one thing in common: they are easy to clean! 🚿
🔹️A towel can be thrown in the wash after meals. ✔ A shower curtain or crate are easily sprayed and wiped down with safe cleaning solutions like vinegar and water. ✔ Tile, hardwood, or laminate flooring are the easiest to clean because you can mop or wipe quickly and easily. ✔ 🔹️Then there's carpet... 🛑 Carpet naturally harbors dirt, dander, and other yucky stuff. Raw meat contains bacteria that can quickly multiply if it comes in contact with carpet... carpet is like a sponge for bacteria!!🔬🤢😷
🔹️Raw feeding often gets bad mouthed because people fear bacterial contamination. Practice safe meat handling for people and pets to avoid this issue! Most people take shoes off in their carpeted houses - if you just fed chicken quarters and your family walks through the same area your dog ate, they could pick it up on their feet 👣 or kids that crawl around on hands and knees could get sick 👶, etc... we don't want that!!! 🚫
🔹️If you have carpet in your home and you have allowed your pets to eat their raw meals on it, we suggest you invest in a good steam cleaner and make sure your raw fed pets have a sanitary space to eat their meals that can be easily cleaned instead.
