@CleanLabelProject replied to our request for raw data. Unfortunately, their response left much to be desired. 🔹️ They stated, "Clean Label Project test reports have been shared under non-disclosure agreements." Why? Don't regular, everyday pet owners deserve to view this raw data in order to make informed decisions? 🔹️ Their answer: "Clean Label Project does not release raw test results because consistent with how pet food brands don’t give away free pet food, Clean Label Project’s partner laboratory does not give away free test reports." But their lab, Ellipse Analytics, DID donate services for free. Quote from their reply to a Reddit AMA question about a month ago: "Clean Label Project received the data as a generous donation from Ellipse Analytics." 🔹️ They also stated, "Clean Label Project believes in quantitative data and science versus the qualitative comfort and security sold by pet food marketing departments on their product packaging." Likewise, we believe in quantitative data and science versus the qualitative comfort claimed by Clean Label Project on their website. Without raw data, Clean Label Project's claims hold just as much weight as the empty claims by pet food manufacturers. 🔹️ Pet owners like us have serious concerns with the validity of their data and potential conflicts of interest. For this reason, we feel it is of utmost importance for Clean Label Project to publicly release their raw data. This would not only put our minds at ease, but would also set an example for the pet food industry: by promoting transparency within their own organization, they can encourage the same from pet food companies.
