"I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it." - Alice Walker
In December and January, California suffered through the worst wildfire in its history. It enveloped of 250,000 acres. Now, less than four months later, spring has sprung. Fragrant flowers (these are lupines) have bloomed and stand tall where ash and destruction used to be. Trees slowly and patiently regrow their leaves and push the dead ones off. To witness the beauty of nature's resilience is a reminder that we can do this too. Be patient. Stand tall. Bloom in defiance of destruction.
