I just finished the program I was doing and I am waiting to start my next one with my hubby in a week. In the mean time I am using this week to explore my massive fitness library and revisit some old programs. There is a feature inside that puts the week together for you with all different trainers (for those of us with workout ADD πŸ˜†) and the proper balance of cardio, plyo, weight training and stretching πŸ™ŒπŸ». So for those of you who don't want to feel tied down to one program or one trainer this is for you. Today was a plyo day tabata style workout πŸ‘ŠπŸ». As always, I had a #workoutbuddy. She takes about three times as many water breaks as I do. #whatsupwiththat

Weight training, resistance bands and body resistance training. I do them all. In that process my hands can get pretty beat up. Most gloves I have gotten in the past were bulky, made of cheap material or restricted my movement. I LOVE these gloves. My family is the best πŸ˜‚. Dance breaks and nerf guns make life fun. Working out from home may come with distractions but it is a great time saver. I slept in today. I can't get to the gym every day but I can push play and workout from home. That consistency is key for me. Smoothie bowl Saturday. It's a thing. Look it up πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Sometimes you gotta take your shake and make it something special.
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup pineapple chunks
4 frozen strawberries
handful of kale (optional)
6 oz almond milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I recommend Shakeology)
Water and ice as needed and all the toppings you want!
This works best in a #vitamix Blend your almond milk and powder on low first. Stop and add banana, pineapple, strawberries, kale. Turn it up and use the tamper to keep it moving. Add water to thin it out and if you add too much you can always pop in a couple ice cubes to thicken it up. Note: your smoothie bowl will not be as vibrant in color if you add kale. Don't worry. I was late working out and instead of letting my daughter watch tv I brought her little table outside and she chose to paint. Let me rephrase that: when she realized she was not getting TV and was done throwing her fit she came out to paint πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. I got a few masterpieces and my sweat session in. Confession: I love garlic bread! I will have it on occasion cuz it tastes amazin'! To balance out a meal like this I trade the pasta for spaghetti squash. If you are intimidated by cooking squash don't be! You can even do it in the microwave. Cut the squash in half. Scrape the seeds out and place it flat side down in a glass casserole dish that will fit in your microwave. Pour 1/4 cup water in the pan and cover with plastic wrap. Pop it in the microwave for 8-10 minutes. Pull it out and scrape the inside out with a fork. #healthtip #cookingtips #spaghettisquash #vegetarianrecipes

How I really felt about my workout this morning. I think it is essential to LOVE what you are doing when you work out. You may not want to get started everyday but knowing how fun it is and that you will feel better gives you an extra push to begin!! I hurt my wrist so I had to take a break from burpees, weights and push-ups. I decided to try YouV2 and holy cow. So much fun! I had a blast with the easy moves and Alejandro telling me to move my sexy body. He told me I was a star and I believe him β€οΈπŸ˜„. People ask me all the time how I do it all. First, let's be real. I don't! I have days or weeks when I am a hot mess. The laundry situation at my house is always critical and dry shampoo is my BEST friend! What I have done to help me is really started to crack down on my once a week food prep. Sweating six days a week isn't that big of a deal for me because I love it most of the time. Meal prep isn't happy, sexy or necessarily fun. It is a little better when I have my helper πŸ˜„. My food isn't elaborate but me taking one hour, once a week gets my breakfasts and lunch taken care of for Monday- Friday saves me a lot of time. It usually lasts to Saturday because I will forget a meal here and there. I can tell you that I get soooo pumped when I know I have food waiting for me!
