Back in London for a couple of days before I scoot across the Atlantic for a work gig, and stoked to get my new red @polkapants_ in the mail, awaiting me upon arrival home! I can already tell they’re my new fave pants. Happy weekend, everyone!! 💃💃💃(now pretend that red dress is a pair of red Polka Pants, and that’s me)

Easily the most unique theater I’ve ever been to - the Minack Theater is quite literally on the coast, built on rocky granite that juts into the sea. It was remarkable to watch a show in this setting, and lucky us, the stage show of Hilary Mantel’s “Wolf Hall,” (about the rise of Thomas Cromwell during the reign of King Henry VIII), was playing ... it was sooo good! Can’t think of a cooler place to watch it. Also, the story of Rowenda Cade, the woman who spearheaded the theater’s existence, is super inspiring. I left the Minack Theater feeling entertained AND motivated in more ways than one. (Fun fact: Minack means “rocky place”) #minacktheatre #cornwall

NETTLE-COVERED CHEESE!! Cornish Yarg is an award-winning cheese made in Cornwall, England, and I visited the cheesemaking facilities where the magic happens. Dane, the Director of Dairy, showed me around...and I even got to try my hand at applying the nettle leaves on a wheel of cheese!! So fun and so dang delicious. Their nettle-covered AND wild garlic-covered Yarg were stunning, and of course their Alpine-inspired Kern (also renowned) stole my heart. Fun fact: Yarg got its name from the man who made the recipe, Alan Gray. (What’s Gray spelled backwards? Get it?) Hat-tip to my peeps at @neals_yard_dairy for carrying @cornish.yarg cheese!!!! 🧀❤️ #cheeselover

Cornwall is stealing my heart. The walks along the coast are jaw-dropping — I’m guilty of using the word epic liberally, but this is truly epiiiic!! I understand why Cornwall is a beloved area to so many of my British friends. Today we hiked from St.Ives to Zennor, then stopped at The Tinners Arms pub (dating back to 1271!) for a pint and some fish & chips. It was such a great little spot, it felt as if nothing had changed since the 19th century in there, but magically the food was all top-rate and the local ales and lagers were 👍👍👍 Best end to our 7-mile hike 🍻 PS And we saw some playful grey seals ✌️✌️#cornwallcoast #zennorhead #cornwall

Ruins, wind and blackberries - some memories from today’s walk in Cornwall with the fam. It’s really beautiful out here, I’m not surprised it’s such a beloved part of this country. Can’t wait to explore more this week! (And eat lots of Cornish pasties!)

England’s oldest commercial vineyard, @hambledon_vineyard, makes some of the most delicious Classic Cuvée Rosé I’ve ever had (almost creamy in its deliciousness), and Classic Cuvée. It was so fun and fascinating to visit the vineyard (about an hour outside of London) and learn about its gravity-fed system and walk among the grapes that make their bubbly. They only use the fruit they grow for their wines — which is quite unusual for English wines; provenance is very important for them ... and after you have a sip, you know why. I’m actually working on a research project that includes a deep-dive into wine, so I consider this a preamble to my upcoming vineyard immersion in Northern Italy with Comelli winery!!! 🥂 Took the Hambledon Winery tour with my parents who are in England visiting, and we learned so much from our excellent tour guide, Katrina. Now — Cornwall, here we come 👍 (any Cornwall recs for me? Leave a comment, would love your suggestions!)

Sometimes when a very talented photographer takes your photo, you see yourself in a different way; you see what your future self might see, looking back. Thank you, @omarzavalaphotography, for a fantastic morning getting to know you on the other end of the camera and reflecting on what this London journey has meant for me thus far...a Peruvian and an American meeting in London and connecting through art & creativity -- that just about sums up what I love about this city.

This ‘Cardamom Bun Bombe’ is a @rachelkhooks creation - and it’s the most genius way of using up stale Swedish buns (if, by chance, you don’t eat them all fresh!) Rachel came on my YouTube channel to show us all how to make this dish!! Cardamom flavors the caramel and gives it a warmth that just takes it to the next level. Link to the vid is in my bio — and you don’t want to miss the blooper at the end ☺️☺️ #thelittleswedishkitchen

Swedish bun lesson this morning with @rachelkhooks was the best—certainly the most delicious—way to start the day! Raspberry jam and chocolate buns, to be specific, from her new cookbook #thelittleswedishkitchen!! Today is launch day and it was a blast at this publication celebration with a group of awesome food bloggers/ballers like @izyhossack @felicityspector @lindsaysfeast @thatkat @theworktop @misskatyenglish! And ALL of YOU in Internet world have something delicious to look forward to with tomorrow’s QKatie YouTube video featuring Rachel and her amaaaahhzing recipe “Cardamom Bun Bombe” 💥 It’s going to blow your mind, can’t wait to post it. #clasohlsonswedishkitchen @clasohlsonuk

#tbt This time last week sailing in the Mediterranean...which came to a crashing halt when we learned our @airbnb guests had thrown a raging party in our flat, upset our neighbors and trashed the place. While @cboals and I spent our first hours back in London scrubbing every inch of our home, the peaceful moments on the boat felt light-years away. Still a fan of the sharing economy concept but... #notcoolbro

One day back in London and then off to York to teach a video storytelling workshop w/ @cboals for @taylors (h/t @creatingforgood). Wow, the Yorkshire Dales are stunning - what a beautiful part of the country! One of the highlights was helping @rosiefoodie shoot a video in the most magical garden at Millgate House in Richmond. It’s a quaint B&B with the most epic garden behind it - it won first prize in the RHS national competition (for good reason!). The workshop was a success (or so say our incredible students) and we had a great time with the talented bunch of content creators: Rosie, as I mentioned, @candidsbyjo @mondomulia @hannahargyle @circleofpines @jessonthames !! Back in London now, happily caffeinated by Taylor’s single origin coffees and inspired by meeting talented creators and having some nature time up north. Already excited to go back. #millgatehouse

Ciao, Italia. Our week on a sailboat going around the Amalfi Coast was epic, such fun water adventures and island vibes exploring Capri, Positano, Amalfi & Sorrento. Oh, and the food! Such tasty meals - spaghetti al vongole (clams), grilled sardines, gelato & semifreddo, fresh tomatoes, ripe peaches, limones...and pizza!! We flew in and out of Naples and couldn’t resist going back to Pizzeria da Michele for another outstanding pizza (Margherita with double mozzarella) before our return flight. Yes, it’s the same place @elizabeth_gilbert_writer goes to in ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ - and it lives up to the hype. Let me quote her here to describe this pizza, because she does it so darn well: “The dough, it takes me half my meal to figure out, tastes more like Indian naan than like any pizza dough I ever tried. It's soft and chewy and yielding, but incredibly thin. I always thought we only had two choices in our lives when it came to pizza crust — thin and crispy, or thick and doughy. How was I to have known there could be a crust in this world that was thin and doughy? Holy of holies! Thin, doughy, strong, gummy, yummy, chewy, salty pizza paradise. On top, there is a sweet tomato sauce that foams up all bubbly and creamy when it melts the fresh buffalo mozzarella, and the one sprig of basil in the middle of the whole deal somehow infuses the entire pizza with herbal radiance, much the same way one shimmering movie star in the middle of a party brings a contact high of glamour to everyone around her. It's technically impossible to eat this thing, of course. You try to take a bite off your slice and the gummy crust folds, and the hot cheese runs away like topsoil in a landslide, makes a mess of you and your surroundings, but just deal with it.” Amen, Liz 🙏❤️🍕🇮🇹
