//FASTING AS SELF-CARE// When I woke up this morning I felt horrible. I'm not sick anymore, but I felt so gross in my body. I'm bloated, I feel heavy both physically and energetically, and I'm incredibly disconnected from my self. 🤦🏻♀️ Upon waking, which happened at 7:30 (when my alarm was set for 6), I decided that I'm fasting today. No food, just water and herbal tea. 24 hours. Well, a little bit longer actually since I won't eat until tomorrow and my last meal was Wednesday evening. 🍝
Let me tell you: it's been an interesting day. Cravings coming and going, a headache, waves of energy followed by lethargy. It has been an eye opening day. I'm realizing that my call to fast today IS NOT ABOUT THE FOOD, but it's about the deeper disconnection from myself. I have emotions that are surfacing, thoughts that I've pushed aside, and intense clarity. You can watch my Insta story for a bit more insight into my fast today. 🌿
As I'm going able my evening, there will be gentle yoga, more meditation, and detox tea from @yogitea. my energy is shifting and slowing down, and I will continue to honor my body. 🙏🏻 ⭐️⭐️Fasting is NOT for everyone, and it's not something to be done with little to no thought. I've fasted before, so I know what my base reactions will be. I've also been to my doctors recently, so I know where I am in regards to my health.⭐️⭐️ Your turn: have you fasted before?
