Join us for one of our upcoming Art Studio Workshops! First up is When Worlds Collide: Image Making with Lorenzo Hurtado Segovia on October 20 and 21 (10am-2pm, $100 museum members, $150 non-members). This image-making workshop uses collage as the primary technique and includes an exhibition walk-through for inspiration and context. Aggregation, accumulation and juxtaposition are physical and conceptual means that will be used to create a series of new compositions with an array of materials.
Then the next workshop is Text(tiles): Frame Loom Weaving with Kenturah Davis on November 3-4 (10am-2pm, $100 museum members, $150 non-members). This introductory weaving workshop led by artist Kenturah Davis will begin by exploring how textiles are a vehicle for conveying information. We will do a close study of works in the “Unsettled” exhibition by Guillermo Bert, who embeds codes into the tapestries which can be activated with a smart phone.
See the link in our bio for the full Art Studio Workshops & Classes schedule and to sign up!

Thursdays = free admission from 4-8pm at Palm Springs Art Museum and the Architecture and Design Center! It’s a great day to check out the new “Scraps: Fashion, Textiles, & Creative Reuse” exhibition at the A+D Center, as well as the unveiling of “A Felt Eye View” by @5a7ah at the museum’s Palm Springs location from 6-8pm in the Arts Education Space. This large-scale interactive felt map, commissioned by @pspublicarts, will be on display at the museum through Sunday, Oct. 14 for the #ArtIsHerePS 30th anniversary event.

One of the installations featured in our upcoming “Unsettled” exhibition is Chris Burden's "All the Submarines of the United States of America," which is made of hundreds of submarines suspended from the ceiling. The first image shown here is an installation shot from @nevadaart’s exhibition of the work (from the collection of @dallasmuseumart); swipe left to see the installation underway at PSAM and then come visit in person when "Unsettled" opens on October 27!
