Whats up for the Weekend? Come Join Us Join Sunday at 8am while Jen Grow leads us through an amazing yoga class! Jen was a competitive gymnast for over 10 years, and gymnastics can be a harsh sport on your body. But with every injury she incurred, it gave her the opportunity to learn more about the healing process. She turned to yoga in her early twenties for a gentler, more balanced practice. Jen graduated from the Sivananda Yoga Ashram, after a month long intensive, and has been a member of the Yoga Alliance since 2003. After tearing her hamstring in 2009, Jennifer learned the importance of cross training. Balance is always the key, and while Jen had some impressive looking asana, she was out of balance. She began taking dance, total body conditioning, and pilates. While not as flexible as she used to be, she became stronger and more balanced than ever.
Then in 2013 Jen was blessed with breaking her wrist. The blessing was in the healing, and how she came to find The MELT Method, which has not only healed her wrist, but a myriad of other issues. Jen is proud to be Rochester’s first MELT instructor. This journey has made her a better teacher, as she understands what it feels like to be injured, how important is to back off when you need to, and how to use yoga to work through the injury. Travel and studying all different types of yoga, dance and fitness have allowed Jen to create well rounded, playful, inspiring classes, that will push your boundaries, while keeping you safe. A constant student herself, always learning more about anatomy, alignment, and philosophy, she is eager to pass on her knowledge. She enjoys a healthy, relaxed lifestyle with her son and two dogs. Some of her other passions include reiki, essential oils, nutrition, kayaking, and dancing. Go to www.jennifergrow.com for more information on the MELT Method .
