Cada año, trabajo una pintura digital conmemorando el Día del Grito, el Día de la Independencia de México. Este video muestra dicha pintura, y refleja los sentimientos que afloran en mí, en una situación como la actual en México. Sin embargo, hay que recordar que por cada lágrima hay una sonrisa. ¡Viva México! Aún hay mucho por qué gritar, ya sea de rabia o alegría.

Mil gracias, como siempre a mi amiga Lisa Del Toro, la musa que inspiró no sólo la pintura de este año, sino también la de los últimos seis.

Siguiendo otra tradición, la pintura de este año estuvo inspirada en la música de mi compadre Pedro Infante; en especial la canción "Deja que salga la Luna", escuchada en el video.

~Pops. -------------------------------- Every year, I render a digital painting celebrating Mexico's Independence Day. This video shows that painting, and reflects my feelings, feelings that surface during a situation like the one Mexico's going through. However, we should always remember that for every shed tear, there is a smile. Viva Mexico! There's still a lot of reasons why we should shout to the sky: either out of anger or out of joy.

As always, many many thanks to my friend Lisa Del Toro, the muse that inspired this painting not only this year, but also the last six.

Following another tradition, this year's painting was inspired in the music of my compadre Pedro Infante; mainly the song "Deja que salga la Luna", played in the video.

The translation for the text in the video, reads:
"The art that we create,
carries a piece of us.
Our life experiences,
our feelings.
With every pencil stroke,
with every brush stroke,
our soul laughs,
our soul bleeds.
I hurt for you Mexico,
I do hurt a lot,
because you are part of me,
same as I am part of you.
I have always been and I will always be"

Sí, ya estoy de vuelta. Les traigo un segundo pin-up celebrando el Día del Grito este año. Esta imagen muestra otro gran aspecto de la cultura mexicana: la picardía, acompañada por supuesto del doble sentido. La musa que inspiró esta nueva imagen es la hermosa Fernanda Sw, paisana mía y mega estrella dentro del porno mexicano. Muchas gracias Fernanda por la inspiración, sigue esparciendo esa sensualidad y desenfado en todo lo que haces.

Quise mostrar una imagen de este tipo, para contrastarla con el pin-up pasado, el cual celebra la cultura e historia mexicana bajo un lente mucho más serio. Por cada lágrima hay una sonrisa, y esta imagen resalta precisamente esas sonrisas o muchas veces risas.

Hoy es Día del Grito, y hay que tratar de celebrarlo como tal... aunque a veces no sea tan fácil. Hasta la próxima y ¡Viva México!

Yes, I'm back. I'm bringing a second pin-up commemorating Mexican Independence Day. This image shows another great aspect of the Mexican culture: its mischievousness, coupled with its play on words, pun included (and of course, intended). The muse that inspired this new pin-up is the beautiful Fernanda Sw, a paisan of mine and mega star of Mexican porn. Thank you so much Fernanda for the inspiration, keep spreading that sensuality and self assurance of yours.

I wanted to portray an image of this kind, to contrast it with my previous pin-up, which also celebrates Mexican culture and history, but under a much more severe scope. For every tear that's shed, there's also a smile, and that's what this image wants to highlight: those smiles... or maybe even laughs as well.

Today is the day of the Cry of Independence and it should be celebrated as such. Or at least should be tried to do so, even though sometimes it doesn't look that easy. So let's celebrate, remembering always to push forward. See you next time and Viva Mexico!

Como siempre, la musa que ha inspirado esta nueva obra es mi bellísima amiga @missdeltoro De verdad muchas gracias, Lisa, por esa inspiración que has traído a mi trabajo durante tantos años.

Este año, el pin-up del Día de Independencia además de reflejar el estilo actual con el que estoy pintando, también refleja mis sentimientos hacia la situación actual de México. No necesito especificar a qué situación me refiero, son tantos los flancos siendo atacados, que no tiene caso ahondar en un problema específico. No está en mis posibilidades el cambiar el rumbo ni el destino de México, pero si hay algo que puedo hacer, es expresar mis sentimientos por medio de la pintura.
