April is National Poetry Month in case you didn’t know ✒️🌸

How GENIUS and ADORABLE are these “poet trees” @teachinginroom6 does with her students in April! These would be PERFECT for a hallway or bulletin board display 👍🏼
-
If you are interested in using these with your students, @teachinginroom6 has the link in her bio ❤️

Make sure you are following Stephanie for more genius resources and ideas to use in your classroom! 📚

I HAVE NOW RAN THE BOSTON MARATHON! 💙💛
-
I will have more pictures coming but you can swipe to see a few shots from today! 📸
-
The weather today was brutal and miserable to say the least... torrential downpour from start to finish, real feel temps in the 20s, and 40 mph wind gusts 😳 I have never ran a race as difficult as this one due to the weather conditions and probably never will again.
-
I can’t even describe the feeling of accomplishment I have for finishing this race! 💙💛 I didn’t PR, I have a huge blister that ripped open right at the beginning, and I couldn’t stop shaking but I FINISHED!
-
So many thanks go out to @mrpocketfulofprimary and @teachingandcaffeine for waiting for me at the finish (and seriously, how amazing is her sign? 😍) You both are the true MVPs! 🙌🏼 I can’t even tell you how special and meaningful it was for me to have you both there ❤️❤️
-
I also can’t thank @hylandspowered enough for the first class treatment all weekend! I am truly honored to have been a part of this team for so many reasons and I can’t even describe how amazing this entire weekend was! Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
-
Thank you to all of you for the sweet and encouraging messages I have received! You all are the BEST and I appreciate it more than you know! 😍

Tomorrow is the day 💙💛
-
For the past several months, my life has revolved around training, teaching, and not much else 🏃🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍🏫 I’ve been working my butt off for this one single day: April 16th - @bostonmarathon 2018 🦄
-
The weather tomorrow is going to be less than desirable, to put it nicely. Pouring rain, strong wind gusts, cold temps, you name it and the weather tomorrow has you covered 🌧🌬☂️
-
But after months of training and hundreds of miles run, the weather tomorrow doesn’t matter 💪🏼 I decided. I committed. Tomorrow is time to succeed ❤️
-
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. Life is about learning to dance in the rain (or in this case, run in the rain 😂). I’m ready to conquer this race tomorrow and a little rain and wind isn’t going to stop me 👊🏼

That feeling when you’re able to get your weekly classroom vlog edited even though you’re traveling and it’s marathon weekend! 😍
-
I can’t say this is the most exciting vlog ever but I do talk a lot about preparing my 3 days of sub plans and how I was able to get them ready in record time! ⏰
-
That being said... I can’t wait to edit my race weekend vlog because it is going to be EPIC! 💙💛 Thank you all for your continued support... I seriously couldn’t do it without you! 😘

Take me out to the ball game ⚾️
-
Today @mrpocketfulofprimary and I got to catch a Red Sox v. Orioles game at @fenwaypark! Of course we represented our O’s 🧡🖤 (although it was a little embarrassing how bad they were 😂)
-
I literally can’t thank @hylandspowered enough for this entire experience! Not only have they been treating us like royalty, but they brought all of the team members together here in Boston which I am forever grateful for! ❤️
-
I am truly humbled to be a part of this team and am surrounded by absolutely phenomenal teachers and runners! This is certainly a weekend of a lifetime!

Today has been a whirlwind but in the best way possible 💙💛
-
I landed in Boston early this morning and made it to my hotel 🏨 @mrpocketfulofprimary and I grabbed some breakfast and headed over to the expo where I got my bib and was interviewed by @babbittville (thanks Bob for having me! - I’ll link the video in my stories for anyone who wants to see) 🎥 Then we went on a trolley tour of Boston and grabbed dinner before heading back to the hotel 🚃
-
My bib number is 30336 for anyone who wanted to know 👍🏼 I can’t believe this is actually happening and I am running in my @bostonmarathon on Monday! 😍
-
Thank you again and again and again to @hylandspowered for giving me this opportunity and allowing my dreams to come true!

This quote is SO important! 🙌🏼
-
I’ll be the first to admit that I am an insanely competitive person... just watch @mrpocketfulofprimary and I play a board game for five minutes and you will see exactly what I mean!
-
But competitive or not, we are all in this together ❤️ Teaching is not a competition! We all have the same goal in mind and all want to help our students reach their full potential.
-
Here are a few people that I wanted to lift up!
@teachersgonestrong You are one amazing lady and I can’t thank you enough for always cheering me on! You motivate me to live a healthy lifestyle on a daily basis 🥗
@pencilsandmagicwands You are one of the sweetest and most genuine people and the teaching community needs more people like you! ✏️
@hipsterartteacher Girl, don’t even get me started! Besides being insanely talented, you are always looking out for other people and are so selfless! ❤️
-
Now it’s your turn! Tag someone in the comments below and lift them up 👇🏼

This is really happening... I’m headed to the @bostonmarathon bright and early tomorrow 💙💛
-
I could not have had a more perfect send off from my students and team teachers today 😍 At dismissal they surprised me in the hall with these huge posters they all signed and cheered for me 🎉
-
Moments like this make me so appreciative for my school, team teachers, and students ❤️ They truly are the best and I’m so happy that I’m surrounded by such supportive people!
-
I will try to keep you all as updated as I can on Instagram throughout my race weekend! I will also be filming a race weekend vlog for my YouTube channel 🎥 But for now.... time for PASTA! 🍝

I DEFINITELY need this reminder on the daily 🙌🏼
-
I am not one to step out of my comfort zone at all! I am a huge worrier and overthink everything when it comes to new situations. I like having routine and doing things I know well 👍🏼
-
But in order to grow as a person, I know I need to leave my comfort zone. Starting a YouTube channel was WAY out of my comfort zone but now it has become a part of my life and helped me come out of my shell 🎉 Getting interviewed by the newspaper a few weeks ago was out of my comfort zone but the overwhelming support I’ve received in response from my students and the community has been such a big confidence booster. Filming a segment for the news today after school was out of my comfort zone but I can’t wait to see the finished product! ❤️🎥
-
The point is... it’s okay to be scared but it’s not okay to let that fear keep you from leaving your comfort zone. The best things happen outside of your comfort zone!
-
What will you do in the coming weeks that is outside of your comfort zone? Tell me down in the comments 👇🏼

Teachers who go above and beyond to make their students feel special make me so genuinely happy ❤️
-
Can we talk about this display @firstgrade_made put together to celebrate an accomplishment of her students? 😍 Absolutely phenomenal!
-
After a two month nonfiction writing unit, she invited parents in and decorated the room for students to share their writing pieces ✏️ This is such a great way to make students feel like authors and celebrate their hard work! 🎉 -
The best part is... this is so simple! Some balloons (the “yay” balloon is from @target!), signs, and you’re done! Making your students feel proud of themselves? Priceless! 🙌🏼
-
If you aren’t already following @firstgrade_made, get on it! She is one of those teachers that motivates you to go above and beyond for your students 🍎

What if I told you I wasn’t always a positive person? 🤷🏻‍♀️
-
Believe it or not, I used to be extremely negative. I was constantly complaining and wasn’t someone people wanted to be around.
-
Guess what? My circumstances haven’t changed but my attitude has done a BIG 180 in the past few years 😍
-
My life is by no means all sunshine and rainbows. Everyone is fighting their own battle and you never know what someone could be going through in their own life. I have days where I breakdown and cry at night. We ALL do.
-
You can’t always control your situation but you can change how you REACT to it. Since deciding to always have a positive outlook, I am 1000% happier ❤️
-
Put your positive pants on today. Choose to react to your circumstances in a positive light. Believe in the good. Focus on the light. If you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine ☀️
-
How will you be the sunshine today? Tell me down in the comments 👇🏼

New classroom vlog is up on my YouTube channel 🎥
-
Coming back from spring break is always a struggle (at least for me) 😣 I had an extremely busy spring break and didn’t have much down time to just relax 🌴
-
However, I had a wonderful week with my students ❤️ It was a hectic week but I’ll be the first to admit that I really missed my students and couldn’t wait to see them again.
