So Friday nights ain’t what they used to be. You can generally find us watching videos of people playing video games. Riveting, I know. But, this kid makes me wet myself laughing every ten seconds, so it’s all good 👌🏻

Peanut butter hot choc, made with @rudehealth almond milk, Medjool dates, raw cacao, @pipandnut peanut butter and half a banana 🍌
Sweet and salty popcorn, courtesy of a drizzle of @bionaorganic coconut oil and a drop of @sweetfreedomuk
Cheesy BBQ popcorn with coconut oil base, @lachinatasmokedpaprika and a hefty sprinkle of Nutritional yeast. Himalayan pink stuff all round too, obviously 🙄 .
Not featured, my vase of chianti, which, coincidentally pairs perfectly with the savoury popcorn. Because, Friday, and apparently I’m still home schooling. Which is as laughable as me saying: just the one glass this evening 😉

Pancakes all day errryday ✌🏻

Pancakes are a frequent supper in our household. They don’t have to be full of sugar and s%*t, we like to grate or purée vegetables into the batter. Raw courgette grated goes totally unnoticed by fussy eaters, beetroot puréed makes wonderfully pink pancakes (or waffles) and you can ever blend spinach in like a smoothie 🙌🏻

Here we have sweet potato and buckwheat pancakes from brunch a few weeks back.
Sweet for the boy, with caramelised bananas (ewww 🤢) rhubarb and ginger Compote and pistachios.
Savoury pour moi, with Avo, egg and some grated ewes cheese through the pancakes
.
We also serve these up for our event and retreat breakfasts. Nothin’ beats a stack 🥞

Therefore I can post more salady spreads.
I’d go for this on a September Monday evening but the reality is that I’m too lazy too cook. Instead we’re on the beach, the kiddo with his crabbing bucket, and me with my laptop, too many emails, and half a bottle of chianti. Because, balance 😉

We served up our signature breakfast bowls - Red Velvet Smoothie Bowls with allllll the toppings, Goodness Breakfast Bowls with our infamous Sesame Kale Salad, Turmeric Hummus, Smashed Avo + Raw Smoky Flax Cracker. Not forgetting our Espresso Banana Bread with Tahini Cashew Cream, Cherry Cardamom Compote, Pistachios and Red Amaranth 👌🏻

It was so lovely to spend a sunny morning working with the awesome @the_midnight_club team, special shout out to @vicksheptonstall for putting up with me running around the entirety of Battersea Park, lost 😳

Great to see some familiar fitness friends, especially Maddie @soulsistersfitness plus the beautiful @kimhartwell and the lovely @kiaallinen - and awesome to meet some new ones @juliemontagu so pleased you loved the food, such an honour!

@ottolenghi bought out his latest book SIMPLE today, and I can’t wait to get it. I have every book of his, I’ve read every column, and when a business mentor asked what I aspire to be in life, my answer was: “the female ottolenghi”
For that, however, I’ll have to work on my video presenting skills, not least my technique 😂

Grilled flat peaches and courgettes on the BBQ, a simple basil pesto, roasted kent cobnuts, and a smidge of crumbled ewes cheese, should you feel so inclined 👌🏻

Mushroom Miso Ramen made with @tidefordorganics amazing Red Miso. I usually opt for a brown rice miso paste, but this is next level 👏🏻

I’ve been eyeing up the mushroom selection in my local farm shop and decided that these would be the perfect addition to to my mainly broth based diet this week. Featuring chanterelles, enoki, oyster and hedgehog mushrooms. Each one has a different texture and taste, and I think they’re just beautiful ☺️
.
Broth and Mushrooms served with Courgetti, for that Ramen feel, Cavolo Nero, roasted Aubergine rolls, a soft boiled organic Egg for those that fancy it, and black sesame 👌🏻

Is everyone gearing up for back to school season? We’ve got a bit longer on holiday, but I’m feeling like I need to get my head back in the game after a LOT of holiday treats and lie ins 😎

I always find that when I need to reset, a bit of fasting never goes amiss. So for the rest of this week I’ll be adding in some liquid days - think juices, smoothies and soups 🍵

We’ve just made an impressive selection of pancakes - largely because I’ve been awake half the night with our new Bengal rescue kitty, and I thought I should use my time wisely.

First attempt at an @ottolenghi recipe from the #nopi book - his recipes genuinely never fail.
Sweet Potato Pancakes that I pimped with the additions of @thecheeseboxwhitstable Ewes milk cheese and spinach, topped with Avo, watercress, a poached organic egg and radish sprouts, all from @stainesfarmshop 👌🏻

Last of the summer evenings...

I’m going to miss spending all of our days frolicking on the beach. But, I’m really looking forward to a bit of autumn and all the warming foods that it brings. I’m already flicking through my recipe books for hearty stews, curries and warming drinks to ease us into cosy season 🍂

Last of the summer salads - Charred Cauli with all the Chermoula spices, a mix of grains, herbs, seeds and and a sweet and salty Tahini dressing - because if it ain’t sweet and salty, I just don’t wanna know...

Smoothie bowls 🙌🏻

Yesterday we fed the runners at Adidas in Oxford Circus. Typically, I didn’t get an gram-able shots, because when you’re busy feeding, you’re busy feeding 💁🏼‍♀️
.
What I do have, however, is a big bowl of ever too slightly crispy granola sitting in my kitchen, some leftover rhubarb and ginger compote, and some tahini cashew cream - so I feel smoothie bowls are in order this morning to give me some energy back. Is it me, or is this change of weather making anyone else feel bleurgh?
