I saw @naturalbabe10.11_pro's post earlier today and I don't know all of the information, therefore I can't assume ANYTHING. However, if there is evidence that can be produced, well within each parties legal limitations, that naturalbabe10.11_pro wanted to collaborate with Bobbi Boss to market/advertise a type of distinct style, which is very specific to her brand, that she's been rocking since January 2016. I'ma fall clean off Bobbi Boss, respectfully.
LIKENESS | In the court of law, she could further her argument given the company's choice to use this particular model. The model in the advertisement is beautiful, but she has an uncanny resemblance to @naturalbabe10.11_pro. I've attached photos stemming back to January 2016, just to offer a little background.
I just want to say that many hair companies reap the benefits of influencers, especially women and men of color, picking their brains, capitalizing off of their knowledge, to help increase sales and marketing efforts.
I go to these meetings and have the opportunity to meet the people who represent these companies and most often, they don't look like me, but the saturated industry of which they've implemented themselves needs the voice and opinions of people who look and style their hair like me.
This is a very different situation, on a very unique platform and it's a form of creativity. It's difficult. I get it. I appreciate Nikitha's approach. It's not malicious, it's sheer frustration. She used her words wisely. I hear you loud and clear, Sis.
She wants the support of people within her community. Let's position our arguments accordingly so we can begin to see change and true representation. Spewing venom won't forward change. Make your words heard. Our voices matter.
I meet with companies in dire need of diversity, as well as other companies who are thriving & truly using women and men of color to bridge the gap. I'm committed to doing the work in front of the camera, as well as behind it. I won't push any brands away that are willing to do the work, as it's imperative that brand reps actually show true initiative. I'm an email away & so are many other creators.
