Brione's Mothers Day Message: "My mother passed away from cancer at age 48, she was originally diagnosed at age 40. I was 22 when she died and it rocked my world. I faced a reality of growing up without my mum and it took me a while to comprehend what that meant. As life went on, I got married (luckily my mum met my boyfriend who would become my husband) but she never got to hold and love my three beautiful children. πŸ’•

Mothers Day for me is like champagne and razor blades😞... I have the comfort of my 3 children but the heartache of knowing what my mum has missed out on and I didn't want that to happen my my children"πŸ¦‹ #pinkhope #pinkhopeaus

Sometimes it is the simple things that make "tough" times a little easier. A call, a message, a flower, a smile... our community is full of families where tough times tend to be a regular occurrence 😞 generations of cancer, young diagnosisπŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦....... and this generation has options to be in control if they are lucky enough to have knowledge 🀜🏻 (that gene testing or risk assessment can bring - but preventative options are limited and often confronting)- πŸ¦‹ Pink Hope picks up the phone, emails them back, provides the info and support they need (raises awareness and shares stories) because together we can help women "know their risk and change their future" 🀝but at the core of what we embody is "kindness" πŸ™πŸΌ because sometimes that's all we need to make the tough times just a little easier πŸ’•β€οΈπŸ’•β€οΈ

In Honour of World Ovarian Cancer Day... a message from our community member. "My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2004 and sadly passed away on September 23rd 2007 at the age of 45. I was only 16 when my mother had died, so to be honest with you I didn’t know what cancer was back then and I never expected that I would lose my mother so young." Today we remember the families who have faced ovarian cancer... and Pink Hope makes a promise to all of you! That we will never rest until every Australian woman knows their risk of breast & ovarian cancer... and gets the chance to change their future.
If you want to know your risk or if you are eligible for genetic testing. Visit our website.
