The ocean is a fascinating place. So many creatures, amazing colors and unusual place for me as a photographer. But the reefs around the globe are in danger. Massive coral bleaching is taking place, which is what happens when ocean temperatures rise beyond levels that coral reefs can survive. Climate change is the primary culprit. Reefs all around the world are suffering and dying, like the protected reefs of Florida, parts of the Caribbean and Hawaii as well as the famous Great Barrier reef. Change has to be done now, not in 10 or 30 years and we have to start in our own homes and lives and not waiting for politics, companies or Santa Claus … otherwise memories and pictures will be all which will be left. © 2017 All Rights Reserved by Pierre Johne (www.pierrejohne.com).
