F O R E S T is the name of my Diabetic Alert Dog, who is currently in his final stage of training in Arizona. An intelligent, obedient, and hard working Weimaraner just under a year old who will spend all day, everyday with me. Provided he gets certified, we'll start working together in 6-8 weeks. I have faith, he's a very smart dog.
Home training will take another 6-8 months to build and solidify the bond. I cannot wait to work day and night with him at my side.
With his help, I'll be alerted about potential dangerous high or low blood sugars. In the last year, I've been having very low blood sugars at night and cannot feel them when I'm sleeping.
Beyond Type 1 Diabetes, he'll be my rock. I'm not mentally strong enough to do things on my own. So I've chosen to #LiveBeyond my fears of low blood sugars, with the help of my family. It's going to change a lot of things, but I'm excited for our progress.
I can't wait.
Hope you feel comfortable to ask me any questions, would be happy to answer them.
