Please support @sageusa, the country's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ older adults. On May 18, @sageusa invites you to host or attend SAGE Table, a chance for LGBTQs of all ages to sit down, strengthen community, and forge new traditions. Follow the link in our bio for more information and watch for a project in support of SAGE Table that @lgbt_history had the honor to work on with @levijfoster and @mh0ffman.

It's #TransgenderAwarenessWeek and while it's totes cool to be an ally & share blog posts, there are some other things that we can all do help:

ACLU: They're dope AF and are fighting the good fight. They're always looking for volunteers and donations so they can continue kicking ass. You can do a monthly donation program (which is what I'm trying to work up to) or one-offs whenever you can.
Silvia Rivera Law Project: SRLP busts its butt to raise awareness and represent the political voices of low-income ppl and POCs who trans, intersex or gender non-confirming. Super cool peeps.
Hetrick-Martin Institute: safe space for LGTBQ+ people aged 13-24 and their families. They have a location in the East Village as well as New Jersey.
Anti-Violence Project: This organization empowers queer, trans, and HIV-affected people and seeks to raise awareness of violence against them and put an end to it. They also provide survivor support, such as counseling.

Trans Relief Project: the election was cray and as a result, they received so many donations that they had to put a pause on donations in order to improve their infrastructure and establish 501(c)3 status. In the meantime, we can all follow them on social media and stay up to date in their work.
Events this wk:

The Center’s Trans Day of Remembrance

The night is open to all trans/GNC folk and their allies.

Brooklyn LGBTQ Youth Summit 2016
Saturday, November 19 at Sunset Park High School, 10 am to 3 pm, FREE

The Hetrick-Martin Institute, a stone’s throw away from the newly-redesigned Astor Place, takes over Sunset Park High School. Several organizations will have tables set up, and there will be workshops, food, prizes, and a DJ.
Let's all change for the better. Love yo

It's a beautiful day on the SMC campus for #genderspectrum 2016. Two of our board members are attending the 10th annual conference and we will be reporting our experiences at our August meeting. (Reminder that we are not meeting this month!)

In case you missed our newsletter, or need a reminder, PFLAG St. Augustine is on "summer vacation" for June and July. Our regular monthly meetings will resume in August. If you are not receiving our emails but would like to, please send us a message!

PFLAG booth set up at today's record fair at the Amphitheatre -come say hi!

Know anybody coming down for the Arts and Crafts Festival today? Tell them to park in the Ameris lot -- 100% of all proceeds go to our Chapter!

Reminder! Tonight we are collecting donations for the Home Again St Johns Drop-In Center -- please bring them to the meeting! If you are unable to attend the meeting, please bring them anytime this weekend to Tonevendor (81d King Street) and we will collect them all. Questions, please ask. Thanks!
