Paolo Bramucci  One moment, then another. Just one more. Now! Fleeting. Gone! No more. Saved? Lost? Faded? Not to be seen or lived again. ... Unique.

Tails & Tentacles: Who says that Surf & Turf has to be steak and lobster tails? Inspired by a post by @sfaita this is my take, octopus and ox tails served on a bed green lentils. This is definitely a meaty dish. Unami! #homecooking #simplefood #switchingitup

Steak & Kidney Pie: Cold winter nights calls for something that is comforting and satisfying. Served on a bed of silky Mashed Potatoes with chives, Roasted Red Carrots done with butter and maple syrup with a hint of ginger and cinnamon, and, accompanied by a stout ale. This pub classic is too good not to make at home. It is relatively simple to make and can be done in stages and assemble at the last minute. #HomeCooking #HomeCook #ClassicEnglishPubFood #food.

@alexlindsay The view from my kitchen window. It may not be #davos , but the winter is just as real and possibly longer. 😊#winter

Asian Fusion: A little experimentation, served on a bed of rice are lightly steamed ribbons of cabbage, slices of Orange & Ginger Beef, thin raw carrot slices dressed with Sherry & honey vinaigrette, Tamagoyaki and topped with fried sweet peppers and onions. My concept was to have dish that combined elements that were warm and cold, sweet and sour. I am happy to say that I succeeded! Next time out with a little tweaking it should be near perfect.

Sourdough Bread: The first time I tasted it was in San Francisco, in 1979. It was one the things that I missed the most when I got back to Montreal. Over the years sourdough breads, thanks to artisanal bakeries began to become readily available in #Montreal . Today, I closed a circle by baking my first sourdough bread. It was surprisingly easy to do. I baked it from scratch, beginning with making my starter. I am happy to say that it came it out near perfect, as you can see. Good crust, alveoli structure and it has a mild tangy flavor. I expect the flavor to improve with future loaves, when my starter reaches full maturity. #homecooking #baking #bread #sourdough #travelmemories

Pickled Sweet Peppers: My Mother did all the cooking, with the exception of few things, when I was growing up. One of exceptions was pickling peppers. For some reason, my Father was the one in our family that took up pickling. One of his favourites was pickling green peppers. Today, as I attempted my hand at making them, I thought about him ... . Food is one the things that binds us together and that and the memories of that we carry with us. #homecooking #pickling #family

Bake beans, one of my favorite winter comfort foods. While it takes time to make them, bake beans are simple to make. Even better, they can be made while you are sleeping and are ready when you awake. #homecooking #comfortfood

Black Radish & Sweet Gherkins salad dressed with a white wine and dark maple syrup vinaigrette. I had an idea and decided to experiment this evening. #homemadefood #cooking

Today I woke up to find out it is #NationalCookieDay. What, not a month? 😤 Never mind! This week’s cookies are sweet Taralli. In keeping with the festive season, decorated with sprinkles. I prefer them without, with just a light lemon glaze. #HomeCooking #Cookies

A nice and healthy snack, peanut butter cookies and a glass of milk. #afternoonsnack #cookies #cookieoftheday

Another #thanksgiving has come on gone. I am so fortunate to have so much to be grateful for and for the wonderful people in my life that I have share it with. This year was the third time that I made turducken, it really was the charm. #homecooking #holidayseason

Leftover apples, leftover dough, but not enough to make a pie. So this is what I did with it. A nice quick dessert. #homecooking #improv
