Today marks three weeks of electric scooters operating in #Portland. Here’s the latest data on how it’s going.

Great news! The SW Capitol Highway flyover ramp connecting to SW Barbur Boulevard was reopened today at about 2 p.m., after Portland Bureau of Transportation crews completed repairs to the structure nearly two weeks ahead of schedule.

A hole in the bridge, discovered on July 19, led to an immediate closure to all traffic with reopening set for August 27. Thanks to PBOT crews, deteriorated concrete around an eight-inch hole in the deck of the flyover ramp connecting eastbound SW Capitol Highway to northbound SW Barbur Boulevard was demolished and replaced over the course of three weeks. During the closure for the concrete repairs, City crews also repaired deteriorated concrete discovered at a second location, repaved the bridge approach, cleared clogged deck drains, and trimmed back overgrown vegetation.
The 554-foot-long and almost 60-year-old steel-and-concrete girder bridge is owned by the Portland Bureau of Transportation. Based on National Bridge Inspection Standards, the Oregon Department of Transportation inspects this and all other public, traffic carrying bridges in Oregon every two years. The bridge is due for its next inspection this September.

It’s been two weeks since e-scooters began operating in Portland. Here’s today’s data dump. Happy scooting, #Portland!

Hey Portland, it's been almost two weeks since e-scooters hit the streets so we thought it might be a good time to remind you of a few #scootpdx rules of the road.
1: E-scooters must be WALKED on sidewalks. Riding is only allowed in bike and travel lanes.
2: Please wear a helmet when #scooting. It's the law.
3: Please park e-scooters on the sidewalk, by the curb. Don’t block the sidewalk, bike lane, or vehicle lanes.
4: Sidewalk riding is prohibited. Ride in the bicycle lane or vehicle lane and always yield to people walking, biking and people with disabilities.
5: Riding e-scooters in @portlandparks is forbidden.
6: Don’t ride while under the influence of intoxicants. It’s against the law and may result in a DUII.
7: Only one person per scooter.
8: No scooters on @ridetrimet or the @pdxstreetcar.
Please share this post and help us spread the word. Thank you for your cooperation.
Happy scooting!
