Summer building project with this amazing friend: the perfect way to learn more before I begin building my house next summer.

The view from Mom and Dad's driveway. Muggy Midwest summer. Huge sky. Corn on the cob. Lighting bugs, stars, meteors, distant fireworks lighting up the night sky. Always seeking to live as intensely as possible, while still paying attention.

Last year at this time I wasn't in Oregon, so I missed the daisies. I am quite taken with their humble imperfect beauty.

In the clearing: wild foxglove, daisies, an alder sapling. And scotch broom, an invasive, which I have been pulling out enthusiastically.

I bought my land last week. Now begins the adventure.
