#BeMoreThanWhatTheyThinkYouAre ... Today marks the anniversary of one of the most amazing significant parts of my life and just the beginning for many women after me :) .... One small dream I was crazy enough to think could come true, who along with 5 other amazing young girls from all over the country pushed for until it became reality... we wanted to feel like we belonged at USC , like we were not a minority on campus just because of our ethnic backgrounds, we wanted to be recognized , we wanted to make a difference , we to show that people of color were not a stereotype , we wanted to bring a powerful diverse community service organization/sorority to one of the most prestigious private universities in the country. Something unlike anything it's campus had seen before...something not given but EARNED. Through hard work, sweat & tears we reached that goal and throughout the years 27 other women have been strong enough to join this Radiant organization at USC. And a few years later I was able to help 5 other extremely passionate women to do the same at UC Berkeley, Beta Mu has since then brought in countless women into their chapter as well as made such a difference for women empowerment. I could not be more proud of what, Audrey, Amna, Zulie, Rebecca, Eve and I inspired in the hearts of all these educated women of color. I am so proud of my chapters accomplishments and how high they have held & forever hold the organizations name. Not to mention countless awards, impact on others lives, service to the community and their empowering will to break barriers on that campus. I adore you all and I am so proud to be a Chartering member of the PHI Chapter of Omega Phi Beta Sorority Inc. SOLEIL !!! Special thank you to all the sisters across the country who have been just as part of this family at USC. Without your support OPB first chapter on the westcoast would not be what it is today. Love u!
