One of my favorite things in the world is when I take the time to paint for myself. There's no pressure to perform, no time constraints, no thoughts of "will it be good enough." Just me, my thoughts, my decisions at the moment, and a painting I can watch evolve and change for hours, days, or even weeks! I don't take enough of this time for myself, but when I do, I'm reminded of what a special and magical thing creating is. Too often, I approach it like work. I mean, it IS my job, but it's wonderful to experience painting as a form of meditation, me-time, creativity, experimentation, and play. It's really a refreshing thing.
Here's a super close-up shot of a piece I'm currently working on. Maybe I'll show you the whole thing when it's done. I tend to keep my personal work close, because showing it off, especially when it's so different from my tutorials, is really an exposing thing to do, and it makes me feel super vulnerable. That said, I've got some plans for this one, and I think the evolution from this to the final piece I have in mind is going to be quite dramatic! I'll share how this little spot changes.
Have a beautiful week, friends. Please take some time for you this week, whether it's the whole week, or 10 minutes. Do something that is only for you ✌️💛🎨 Current colors on board: Dioxazine Purple, Cadmium Orange, Ultramarine Blue, Payne's Grey. Just a nightmare of bright, contrasting colors, haha!
