Closest station: Seven Kings railway station Food: 9/10 Service: 7/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 TGoC overall rating: 8.5/10 I don't know how I've left it this long to visit Colony. For starters we had hummus with mixed olives and the Gol Guppa Puri. The hummus doesn't come with enough pitta bread and as they had cut the pitta into strips it got hard very quickly. The olives also were not to our liking as they were too soft. The hummus however made up for what the rest of the plate lacked. It was so good we ended up eating it on it's own!
Next the Gol Guppa Puri was quite possibly the nicest thing I've had in a while. I'm having a bit of a 'writer's block' so said to MA, give me a sentence to describe this. Her answer was 'Tasty, Creamy, Sweet, Tangy, Crunchy, Explosive'. She then told me she doesn't want to talk about food because she was fasting. The fast must have really got to her cos she's clearly forgotten what a sentence is. We ordered the mixed grill for 2 which consisted of seekh kebabs, lamb chops, chicken tikka, chicken wings and grill chicken. The portion size was great and the meat was full of flavour. If you like lamb chops then you'll love the ones at Colony. I think I might just love them as much as @halalfoodguy loves the chops at Hankies! We ordered traditional fries to go with our grill but they got our order mixed up and gave us someone else cheesy fries. When we pointed this out to them they were very apologetic however we didn't get our chips till much later which was disappointing. Apart from that, the service was spot on with a member of staff always near by in case we needed anything. Although we were stuffed, how would we not order their signature milk cake and I'm soo glad we did, a couple of days later and I'm still thinking about how good it was! We described it as a cake version of ras malai. Sounds interesting right? Go check it out so you know what we're talking about! High quality food, nice decor and good service. Colony is a perfect place for date night or an evening out with friends and family. A little on the pricey side but I think it's worth every penny!
