I just found out its introvert week and I thought to myself, as an introvert I need to let others know it's ok not to pretend to be extroverted...πŸ’“

I feel like our society expects everyone to be extroverted and to be perfectly happy being social 24/7...the thing is, for us introverts, socializing is usually draining...we need a balance of time spent alone to recharge our batteries...πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

It's so important to speak up for yourself and let others know your needs so that they don't misunderstand your absence as being "anti social"πŸ”Š

As a woman I've also noticed that my cycle drastically affects my ability and desire to be social.. I'm currently entering my luteal phase (pre-period) and I'm feeling the urge to spend more time aloneπŸ™‡β€β™€οΈ. I honour my body and mind by taking the time I need, because I know if I don't I will be resentful, grumpy and even depressed.
