Today’s task: mail ordering dye plants (from Sandy Mush Herb in North Carolina). It’s a magical feeling receiving live healthy transplants in the mail. A great tip for those wanting to get started on a dye garden: Madder/ Rubia Tinctoria is an excellent dye plant that grows easily everywhere, it’s perennial, comes back every year, and the roots dye a lovely pink-red-orange✨get it in the ground before your even ready to use it because it takes 3-5 years for the roots to produce color. Something about the wait calms me, I busy myself with more immediate tasks and feel grateful time is at work. I hope it’s the same for you. 🙏 #dyegarden
