Back in the game 👋🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Been taking some much-needed time away from social media lately, and one thing that’s been on my mind is a quote I read in a book by @TonyRobbins. That- ‘Your life is measured by how you feel’. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking back on 2018, I had a great year on paper but i felt like 💩. Stressed, tired, angry, resentful, run-down, overwhelmed. I was too critical of the world around me and not critical enough of the lense i see it through. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Optimal health encompasses mind, body, and soul. And until recently I had only focused on the physical and neglected 2 out of the 3.

Did you know that even just negative thoughts can cause permanent damage to your brain? It actually physically changes to become sensitized to the environment you put it through (thoughts, attitude, etc.). Those physical adaptations that come from negative experiences make you more vulnerable to stress, irritation, anxiety, depression, mood swings, etc. (Doidge). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the past, I’ve been too focused on everyone else. One of the best qualities you can have in this world is not being affected by things out of your control (i.e. but not limited to: other people’s bs 💁🏼‍♀️). But it takes work.

With that being said, I have enjoyed and look forward to a much more holistic approach in 2019. One that includes equanimity, peace of mind, and a greater focus on the big man upstairs.

Choose to live not just a healthy life, but a happy one. 😄 And embrace your struggle my friends. Thx for listening. ❤️
