The Yankees have reportedly signed INF Troy Tulowitzki to a league-minimum contract for the 2019 season, per Jeff Passan of ESPN. Passan also reports that this does NOT take the club out of the Manny Machado sweepstakes.
The 34-year-old’s last somewhat healthy season would be 2016 where he slashed .254/.318/.443 with 24 HR and a 104 wRC+. Personally, I love this signing. There’s no such thing as a bad one-year deal ESPECIALLY at the league-minimum $555K price tag. Not to mention that a healthy Tulowitzki could still be a more than serviceable player in 2019.
