Instagram post by @sfhfc St Francis Hospice for Cats

It’s been a long time waiting but I am pleased to say that our new unit is finally up. We still have work to do on the inside before we will be able to accept new residents into the hospice. I am aware that this new chapter has taken a lot longer than any of us ever expected, but after many delays, a lot of which were out of the charity’s control it really is exciting to know that things really are now moving in the right direction. I am posting a few pics of the empty shell, we are now looking at getting the interior cat friendly as well as homely and comfortable and also some permanent cat friendly steps (the temp set are for us humans only). Since these were taken we have also erected part of the old UPVC buildings that were based at our previous location in Littleover, these will help us to offer as much space as we can for our residents to wander freely around their new home.

If you would like to help in some way then watch this space as I will be putting together a wish list of items and things that the charity will need. I am hoping to get our Amazon Wishlist updated as I know that a lot of our supporters used to use this as a way of donating directly to what our cats need. We are a small independent registered charity who survive solely on the kind donations from the public, so thank you to everybody who has donated to our charity in some way. If you would like to donate you can visit our website and click on the Paypal link.

So now that things are moving I will aim to start posting about the new unit as well as the cats that are currently in our care. I hope that you will be able to continue supporting us on our new chapter.

Thank you to everybody for your good wishes and support, past, present and hopefully in the future.
