Although it’s felt like it for a while, today it is officially Autumn here in the UK.
I haven’t read Ali Smith before, but I’ve heard a lot of great things about her writing and this is the perfect story at what is my favourite time of the year.
Although it feels like you’re supposed to love Summer the most, I have a sneaky suspicion that Autumn is most people’s favourite as what’s not to like - fireworks, Halloween, cosy nights in with hot chocolate and of course, the build up to Christmas!
What are your favourite Autumn reads?
I’m hoping this might be one of mine so if you’d like to join me in this read, sign up in the comments and don't forget to tag anyone else who may enjoy it!
You will all then be added to a private group chat where we can discuss the book as we read it rather than all at once at the end. It’s a great way to unpick a story and chat to new people.
Synopsis: Daniel Gluck, a 101-year-old former songwriter, lies asleep and dreaming in his care home. He is regularly visited by 32-year-old Elisabeth Demand, who had been his next door neighbour as a young child.
