Are you selling yourself short by not knowing the difference between exercise and active recovery?

Depending on your starting level of fitness, your workouts might originally need to be something more on the “active recovery” side of things.

But it won’t take long before those activities aren’t challenging enough to be considered exercise.

Exercise is a way to make progressively more difficult demands on your body so you improve your health and fitness.

General activity is great, but don’t cheat yourself by setting your physical upper limits to being “able to go for a walk,” or “able to complete a round of golf.”

No matter where you start, you’re capable of more.

Instead, push yourself with exercise until those other activities (which you used to think of as exercise) are just a fun way to stay active and recover between your actual workouts.
