Earlier this year, our bar manager Dylan visited Bridge Road Brewers in Beechworth with former Bitter Phew tap-tickler Brayden, and mates Tim and Jarrod, for their annual Hop Harvest festival.
.
Fast-forward to today, and we’ve brought all four of Bridge Road’s all-Australian Single Hop IPA’s to Bitter Phew for you to experience!
.
Galaxy is probably Australia’s most famous hop. In this SHIPA, Galaxy is immediately identifiable with big-boi aromas of passionfruit and peach, with fresh flavours of clean citrus.
.
The Enigma hop contributes a very different flavour to Galaxy. In this IPA you’ll get gentle floral aromas with a slight earthiness. This beer has a full flavour with a persistent bitterness that embraces your palate.
.
Vic Secret is a Bridge Road favourite (they’ve been using it since 2011, when it was still ‘in development’). You can expect an IPA with strong ripe fruit aromas and a solid pine-like finish.
.
Last of all is Ella, a sister-hop variety to Galaxy. In this IPA, the Bridge Road Brewers have added whole hop flowers to the kettle and the conditioning tank to fully express Ella’s tropical fruit and grapefruit flavours.
