The diversity, love, and acceptance throughout the weekend was incredibly uplifting (we’d be lying if we said we didn’t get a little emotional watching the parade start on Sunday). Being able to so openly show our love was invigorating and empowering. It came though with the realization that there are so many who still can’t feel this acceptance. Where they are forced to continue hiding who they are for fear of persecution or worse. For us, Pride was about fully feeling both those emotions: the joy of how far we’ve come along with the tears shed for our LGBTQ+ family who have yet to feel safe. Pride Month is slowly starting to wind down, but we hope you all stay vigilant and turn that overwhelming joy into action throughout the year.
"Gay Pride was not born of a need to celebrate being gay, but our right to exist without persecution. So instead of wondering why there isn’t a Straight Pride movement, be thankful you don’t need one".
