An @animalsaustralia investigation has revealed that 2,400 sheep died on a live export ship. These animals – bred to produce thick wool coats – died as a result of heat stress, many of their bodies simply tossed overboard.

There is no retirement for sheep in the wool industry. Just like all farm animals, they are transported and slaughtered once their productivity wanes.
