You know how you’ve always started a new diet and you tell yourself “I’m going to reach my goals. 🥅 I’m going to hold myself accountable by doing whatever it takes whether it be writing ‘You can do it!’ on my mirror or getting rid of all the ‘junk food’ 🍪 in my pantry”.

Guess what. I’ve been there before 😭. But no matter what diet I’ve been through, it was never sustainable. Instead, it continued me down the path of restrictive eating, the cultivating thoughts of “clean foods” vs. “bad foods”, and endless trails of trying to reach my goals. But it wasn’t until I learned the magical 🦄 concept of macronutrients where I absolutely shot the fear of food in my life, felt the freedom from being restricted, and endless cycles of dieting. Food no longer controlled me, but I was in control of food.

IIFYM (if it fits your macros) consists of the concept macronutrients. Macronutrients are essentially carbs, protein, and fats. Carbs and protein equate to 4 calories/ gram while fats are 9 calories/ gram. Because IIFYM focuses on macronutrients, there are no specific food 🍕 groups to avoid or restrictions. You have the freedom to eat whatever suits your personal dietary preferences. As long as you hit your daily carb, protein, fat, and fiber🥦intake, you’re solid!
