I awoke to a leaking ceiling today. After some detective work, I was able to identify the source: a rotten door frame that had cleverly been filled and painted over by the previous owner of my home.
Needless to say, I was furious and annoyed. I spent a good hour fuming, until I realized it was doing me no good.
I realized something at that point: Things can always be worse. I reminded myself how lucky I was to even have a home. My thoughts drifted to the many who have no leaky ceilings to worry about. They would give anything to have this issue that I was getting worked up about.
I need a new frame, but until the weather gets better, I have to improvise. I hit the hardware store and bought some supplies and got down to fixing it. The repairs have been made, and I'm waiting for it to rain so I can see if the issue is resolved.
If it's fixed, great. If it isn't, I will be annoyed and frustrated again, but then I'll look back at this post and remind myself: Things can be worse.
