Day 1
Tree pose, vriksasana, is a balancing pose done on one leg at a time. If you can't bring the foot into the inner thigh, opening the knee outward, try the calf or even the ankle, avoiding the knee. Inhale the arms overhead and then exhale them out, perhaps touching the first finger and thumb together in a mudra, completing the pose.
Find a still spot at eye level or slightly higher to focus the eyes. Concentrate on taking 3-10 slow, deep breaths here before releasing the pose; the breath is your balance. Imagine a string from your heart to the ceiling, lifting you up, Up, UP. Don't forget to ground through all four corners of the standing foot and do both sides, noting which side is easier today.
