This year, the children in prekindergarten room 11 have been investigating go-karts. Recently, a small group of children were invited to @gatewayfunpark , a go-kart race track, to study the go-karts. As researchers, they studied and collected information at the fun park and will report their findings back to the other children. The children had the opportunity to visit the garage and document the different parts of a go-kart. They had the opportunity to see a kart raised on a lift to observe how go-karts are repaired. The experience uncovered answers to many questions they had been wondering, and as many experiences do, raised new questions. "Is the lift a robot?" - Marley, age 5
Cameron - "How does the go-kart stay on the track? How do the big petals work if they slam into a wall?” Cameron, age 5
How will this experience inspire and shape the work taking place in the classroom?
