I remember being so scared before the hurricane when the eye's path was still forecasted to hit southeast Florida. It was this suffocating fear, this knot in my stomach. I remember begging God to be spared and so he answered and we were. Today, as we visited an assisted living facility for the elderly in Little Havana to spread joy, light, and supplies, I was reminded that it only takes a smile to connect with someone and to give them hope. A few kind words, holding someone's hand, or simply listening to them for a few minutes. We are all in this together! May we surround ourselves with people who inspire us to be better. I love my @vouschurch family. πŸ’•

Forever awkward 🐒 (but happy to be feeling better). Is anyone else nervous about this upcoming hurricane situation? Ugh πŸ™„πŸ˜«

Sundays are made for brunching, family, and church. They are also days for planning the week ahead, set goals, and prepare for success. This includes meal-planning which doesn't have to be a long and elaborate process. You can meal-plan as much or as little as you like. I like to keep a big batch of tempered broccoli, quinoa, whole wheat pasta (or brown rice), hard boiled eggs (not pictured here) and precut fresh veggies ready to go in the fridge. They make it easy when meal-time comes around since I only have to make the protein on the spot, and this way I ensure I always have a healthy snack handy. How do you mealprep?

The good thing about bedrest is the opportunity to catch up on stuff that you wouldn't have time for otherwise. I've been binge-rewatching "Sex and the City" and reading about the fascinating history of makeup as well as catching up on my @natgeo and @time magazines. I have a very difficult time just relaxing and doing nothing. I find that extended periods of inactivity can be detrimental to my mental health. It just feels like such a waste of time, but I know it's not. Our bodies need a break from time to time and it's up to us to listen, and give ourselves what we need so we can go back to chasing our goals and doing what we love.
