So we decied to go to Cinque Terre on what felt like the hottest day in history of mankind. Lost two stone in just water throughout the day... 😓☀️ But the five cities were all very charming with colorful houses, beautiful marinas and amazing beaches.
Pic 1-3: RIOMAGGIORE. The one from the postcards. Pretty, but steep. Beautiful stone beach nearby, reminiscent of the ones from my childhood summers on the French Riviera.
Pic 4-5: MANAROLA. This was a really pretty village, with great vista points.
Pic 6: CORNIGLIA (seen from Manarola). Our favourite! After a heart attack amount of steps up from the train station, this city laid all flat on s high cliff. It felt not as touristy as the other ones (the stairs probably scared people away) and was very pretty with narrow allies and dramatic views. And! the best coconut gelato I've had so far! 🤤
Pic 7-8: VERNAZZA. A pretty square and nice piers in the marina were one could enjoy Aperols whilst watching strollers pass by. A sandy beach is just next to the square.
Pic 9-10: MONTEROSSO AL MARE. By the time we reached our final village, the biggest of them all, we were sort of dehydrated and feed up with the heat, so just had a 10 min stop and then took the train straight home to hotel, shower and AC.
