It's day 18 of #limbdifferenceawareness month y'all! Today's video is how I put on gloves. But it also has a different meaning. Because I don't have my right arm, I use my teeth for almost everything. I put my fingers in the glove and then my teeth to pull the rest. I use my teeth to do a lot of other things, like opening chips or bags, holding my jacket when unzipping, holding objects that I can't hold with my occupied hand. πŸ˜… what do you use your teeth for?

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday it's day 17 of #limbdifferenceawareness month!
Today on dive team I got hungry and needed a snack so I went to the vending machine and got chips and a drink. (Please don't take nutrition advice from me). Something simple that I do is opening a bottle! I wrap my fin arm around the bottle and squeeze it in place and then use my hand to open. Sometimes I squeeze too hard and spill things all over me but that's okay 😊 I'll use my mouth to open the bag of chips! And my knees to hold everything that my arms can't πŸ˜… anyway, it's the little things!

It's day 16 of #limbdifferenceawareness month! I apologize for the late video but I was riding my horse today! 🐴
This video is how to braid my hair! It's definitely not the easiest thing in the world to do but it's not impossible. Doing the braid I have to use my teeth to hold my hair and also my armpit. With a bit of luck I can get a nice solid braid 😊 doing a braid down my back is not as easy but it's still possible to do! Just like everything, practice makes perfect. So keep on trying!

PS this is not a real tattoo πŸ™πŸ˜…

Day 15 of #limbdifferenceawareness month and today's video is a dance one!
This video is a bit old but still good. Dance is something that really helped me break out of my shell. When I was in 6th grade with no prior dance experience I decided to try out for my middle school dance team and somehow made it. While performing I always had choreography that of course involved two arms. To be a part of the team and make sure I looked the same as everyone else I could no longer hide my arm. With encouragement from all of my coaches they always pushed me to be the best that I could be. I continued dance all the way through my senior year of high school. I never let myself be any less than my team mates who always pushed me as well. My coaches never let anyone change choreography to make things easier for me. Which I am so so thankful for. Dance is a beautiful way to express yourself and I encourage anyone to be a part of it. I used to hold my Pom on my right arm with a hair tie πŸ˜ŠπŸ’ƒπŸ» this song is "My Heart Will Wait" by one of my favorite artists @joebrooksmusic #limblossawareness #luckyfinproject #luckyfin #dance #joebrooks #abs #amnioticbandsyndrome #amputeegirl #amputee #congenitalamputee #differentisbeautiful #loveyourself #selflove #expressyourself #danceteam #uda #nda

Hello! Day 14 of #limbdifferenceawareness month. Today's video is kind of random but is something I'm proud of lol. Ever since I was a kid one of my favorite things to eat has always been crab legs. Every time someone would try and give me a tool to help I would find it more difficult to handle so I just started using the end of my arm. I have been cracking crab legs like a boss since as long as I can remember. It's one of my favorite talents πŸ˜… the only issue I have is I sometimes get a rash on my arm if I don't wash it in time. Anyway, have a great day everyone! Remember to eat sustainable seafood 🐠

Hello friends! It's day 13 of #limbdifferenceawareness month. Happy Friday the 13th πŸ’€ #staysafe
Today's video is how I type! I am surprisingly very quick when it comes to using the keyboard. I took a typing class for two years back in school and learned the fastest and most effective way to type things. I'm not quite sure whats exactly going on below my elbow, but there's a bone that I use to be precise when it comes to typing. It also helps when I play piano! The only issues I seem to have is typing for a long period of time. When typing I have to slouch on the right side to make my lucky fin reach the keyboard properly. So I usually become sore in my neck, shoulder and back after writing an essay for a long time. While also using the computer I move my mouse to the left side so I don't have to move my body in awkward positions. Anyway it's the simple things that people don't think of that I've had to find ways to do!

Good morning! It's day 12 of #limbdifferenceawareness month. Today I'll be showing you guys how I paint my nails with one hand. 😊
I put the brush in between my fin and my knee and move my hand around in order to get the paint on my nails. It's not always pretty and it isn't always perfect but practice is key! How are you able to paint your nails with a lucky fin?

It's day 11 of #limbdifferenceawareness month!
If you know me, you know the love I have for doughnuts.... Having one arm will never hold me back from holding more than one doughnut at a time. I also use my little fin to hold a lot of different items and I'm extra good at balancing food on it (which is definitely the most important tbh). A lot of people are surprised to see when I balance things because of how small I am past the elbow.
How many things can you balance on your lucky fin? 😊🐠🍩 @lucky_fin_project

It's day 10 of #limblossawareness month and I heard it's #nationalsiblingday so here's a post about growing up with @autumn_sherman80 πŸ’•

Growing up with a twin was probably one of the greatest things that could have happened to me. As a limb different individual Autumn was the one who always has my back in every situation. When we would go to school together she would walk on my right side to make sure people didn't stare. Everything she could do she encouraged me to be able to do the same. Which in the long run has made me who I am today. Autumn constantly is my biggest fan in supporting me with whatever I do. I love you bro!

Day 9 of #limbdifferenceawareness month! Today's video is how do you cut your food With only one hand?

Well this video shows how I attempt to cut my food without my bionic arm on lol. And this is just pancakes πŸ˜‚ the truth is I'm 23 years old and I still haven't quite figured it out. Especially things like steak or chicken, trying to cut food items is not my thing. So I'll honestly take any suggestions! Usually I have my mom/dad/fiance/ cook/friends/sister or literally anyone else do it for me. But the really great thing is that my bionic arm (@ossurcorp ) helps me cut food when I'm wearing it 😊 so maybe I can do a video on that for later!

Day 8 of #limbdifferenceawareness month! Today's photo is just a reminder to be you, and love every part of it.
I struggled growing up with the way I was. Middle school was a rough time for me where people would stare and ask questions. I was always the odd one out in a place where everyone is just trying to fit in. The bullying was real. I even had a guy tell me "I would date you if you had another arm". Which CRUSHED my world in 6th grade. (Also sucks to be him now, js js). Growing up wearing long sleeves constantly and walking around with my arms always behind my back is something I don't want anyone else to go through.
Every single person is unique and that's the way it was meant to be. Learning to love yourself is a choice that has to made every time you wake up in the morning. Some days it's hard. And that's okay ❀strive for progress and not perfection. I love each and every single one of you.

It's day 7 of #limbdifferenceawareness month! In spirit of the last day of #universalmardigras here's a post about being a limb different performer.

When I was a little girl I spent a lot of time going to theme parks here in Orlando with my family. Not once did I ever see a performer who was like me. I kept telling myself that after high school on dance team, my days as a performer were over. Until I auditioned for Halloween Horror Nights in 2013 and got the part! Universal has given me endless opportunities to perform live in front of audiences scaring and finally this year to dance at Mardi Gras. I am so thankful for the all the moments I've shared with guests from all over the world. I hope that by performing at Universal, I can open the door for other limb different friends to perform as well.
This has been my first Mardi Gras and I am so inspired by everyone I have met. You all are beautiful and so very talented. Thank you for accepting me into the family πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’› here's to one more night of partying! I hope to see everyone there.
