What a beautiful sight, pilot whales at sunset! Taken by ORCA Wildlife Officers on the @brittanyferries Cap Finistère this week #nofilter #dolphins #wildlifephotography #pilotwhales

An incredible array of wildlife can be sighted from your ferry journey! For example, this week a pod of ~250 common dolphins (with 60 calves amongst them) were sighted on the @calmacferries Oban - Barra ferry route, whilst ORCA were training the bridge crew for our #ORCAOceanWatch project! Keep your eyes peeled, you never know what might pop up! 🚢🐬🐋

Through the eyes of an ORCA Marine Mammal Surveyor.....common dolphins in the Bay of Biscay! #WorldOceansDay

Thank you to ORCA Marine Mammal Surveyor @ctwallbank for the video!

This jaw-dropping photograph of a male Cuvier's beaked whale was taken by passenger John Chubb on board the @sagaholidaysuk cruise in the Mediterranean.
Over 1,000 cetaceans seen by the ORCA team & passengers so far and counting... The Cuvier's beaked whale is the deepest diving marine mammal on the planet - it can hold its breath for 138 minutes & dive to depths up to 3,000m!
If you look closely, you can see the small tooth on this individual. Only males have teeth, just two (one each side) protruding from the lower jaw.
