Snaps to this week’s #Sundaysnaps for setting the mood with his smooth moves! Meet 16-year-old thrifting trendsetter Jesse [ @v.vargaasx ] whose dance journey began early last year by joining a dance club at his school due to him and his friends wanting to try something new. Since then, he has become one of the officers for the same dance club he began dancing in and currently dances with Syndikidz, the junior team for @syndicatedance. His dance inspirations include his teammates along with his directors and his big @kev_nguyen. “I’ve never met such positive, dope & hardworking individuals in my life. Their drive & talent continuously push me to become a better person and dancer, and I could never thank them enough for that.” Jesse shares, “Dance has definitely become more than just a hobby to me. It’s become a huge stress reliever, my way of expressing myself, & an outlet. It’s helped me get through lots of things and I honestly have no idea what I’d be doing without it. [My piece of advice is] definitely to be more patient, because things take time and that’s okay. I wish I had someone to remind me of that back when I began dancing. I was always so quick to put myself down when it came to dancing, until I took the time to actually acknowledge that where I was at, was where I wanted to be a couple months before & even if they’re just baby steps, they’re just as valuable.”
His favorite MNW? “@officiallyteej to ‘Let Me Explain.’ I had been following TJ since the beginning of my dance journey & since day 1 I found his movement to be just so unique and SO nasty! I was super glad I got the chance to learn from someone that I’ve looked up to since the beginning.”
Here’s Jesse’s footage from last week’s class with @boykimba.
“Gabriel’s class was sooo crazy!! I’ve seen him all over my feed and when I saw that he was coming up to teach I knew I had to be there. His movement quality is so mind-blowing & he’s such a great guy with a really funny personality, and HIS FITS?! He’s just a dope guy all around! His class definitely challenged me & I’m super grateful for that, I hope to learn from him again soon!”
