Are you letting confabulations rule your world?🤔

What is a confabulation? It is a lie that you tell convincingly! What exactly do I mean? Do you leave an interview and say “Oh they don’t like me!” Just because of your interpretation of their expressions? And then when your friends/loved ones ask you about the job you say: “Yeah, prob not getting it! They didn’t like me!”? Just to find out the next day you get the call back?

This can be impacting more of your life than you think! I did this the other day! Someone complimented my transformation and I said “Yeah, it wasn’t that much of a transformation!” When holy sh*t, I preach how much of a transformation it is DAILY - not just physical! I had a moment of misinterpretation of my memories along the way! I saw it very foggy! This hurt my ego right then and there - and it also effected how I showed up the rest of that day! I confabulated that my journey wasn’t that hard and that it wasn’t a big deal! This made me believe that my process wasn’t actually worthy or recognition or pride within myself! 🤯 So - I showed up mediocre the rest of that day!

Feeling hella vulnerable posting this photo... but a lot of girls have been messaging me lately asking how to get rid of bloating, and just really talking down about their bodies because they experience bloat. 🙍🏼

Ladies, bloating is, for the most part, very common and we all experience it! These two photos are legit about 6-7 hours apart. 😳 I don't stress about it anymore though because I know it's temporary, and I know what I did to cause it (I ate out for both lunch and dinner = multiple slices of pizza + a massive burger 😅🍕🍔).

Fast food often causes bloating because it's usually sky-high in sodium, fat and sugar! 😵 Here are some reasons you might be bloating:

✖️SODIUM: too much causes water retention.
✖️FAT: takes longer to digest than carbs/protein, thus moves through the digestive system slower.
✖️SUGAR: fructose, present in many processed foods, is tough for many people to digest, as are artificial sweeteners, like sorbitol.
✖️DAIRY: many people experience bloat/discomfort because their body cannot digest lactose, the sugar found in dairy products.
✖️EATING TOO FAST: you might be swallowing a lot of air by scarfing down your food, causing gas to build up in your intestines and create discomfort/swelling.

Knowledge is power, so I hope this little bit of info can help other girls realize why they may be bloating, and that it doesn't mean you're "fat" or "gross" or whatever other words girls use to tear themselves down about their body. 🙅🏼 WE ARE NOT PHOTOS ❌ - we are humans with living, breathing bodies that continually adapt and change shape in order to keep up with whatever our lifestyles/diets might throw at us. Your body is pretty damn resilient - and personally I think that's cool AF. 😼🙌🏼️️

Carbs are not your problem, you just don’t understand them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Carbs don’t make you fat. CALORIES make you fat (when you consume too many, that is). Carbs actually have the same number of calories per gram as proteins. So by that logic, protein makes you fat, too.

Our body uses carbohydrates as fuel for energy. However, it requires a specific type of carb! Eating a sleeve of chips ahoy will not fuel your body the same way that fruits and veggies (which are carbs btw) will 🍪🍎🥦

Low carb, low fat, low sugar, low gluten etc etc honestly don’t mean anything. Calories n versus calories out will ALWAYS be what determines your weight loss, maintenance, or gain. If you want to know what type of diet will work best for you, focus on eating certain foods and take notes on how you FEEL. The most effective diet is the one you enjoy and follow. If you enjoy kept, AWESOME, do it. If you enjoy vegetarian and high carb, FANTASTIC! However, it is still important to consume fats, carbs, and proteins every day as each group plays an important role in our bodies daily functions!

But, seriously, stop blaming carbs for your problems.

Unlike a lot of people, my goal wasn’t to lose weight. I just wanted to “tone up” after 2 kids. So I ate healthier foods and worked out. Day by day some fat disappeared and some muscle appeared and now I’m happier with my body’s appearance and abilities than ever in the previous 41 years. Seriously, if nothing aesthetically changes after today I’ll still feel really satisfied with what I’ve accomplished. Although if Mother Nature wants to take the last remaining cellulite I have I certainly won’t fight her over it. But if you touch these abs darling I WILL CUT YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE OFF.

remember feeling so anxious about originally posting the photo on the left here on my Instagram 6 weeks pre op.. still soaking in that surgery is over and this is my bod. HOLY. It’s so many details.. like how weird does it feel to lean over and not have loose skin hanging from my abdomen?! SO AMAZINGLY WEIRD. Emphasis on amazing. Also, the other day I went to scratch an itch.. somewhere I used to have to lift up my loose skin up to reach.. YEAH NO SKIN TO LIFT UP.. SUCH A “WTF?” MOMENT.

4 months ago versus now. Your body can do amazing things when you push it! There is not a super big difference in the photos, but upping my workouts has helped to tone up my thighs and get rid of some of my cellulite-a problem I have always had. I train my glutes and legs 3 times a week using my barbell (barbell lunges, squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts). The left was before beginning keto and currently is at a relaxed Paleolithic diet avoiding grains as much as possible now that I know I have a gluten sensitivity. I’m starting to believe there’s really no such thing as an “after” photo because our bodies are always changing and our healthy lifestyle journey should always continue. We fall off the wagon and that’s ok. Im the first to admit that I’m not perfect and I fall off the wagon many times. But if you jump back on and stay consistent, you’ll see results!!
