Happy birthday to the beautiful Ginnifer Goodwin! ✨

Tuesday morning, ahead of its upfront presentation, ABC unveiled its fall schedule which was full of surprise scheduling changes. Among the many changes, was ABC’s decision to move Once Upon a Time from its Sunday night time slot to serve as the lead-in to its new Friday night drama block which will also consist of the network’s new Marvel drama Inhumans (followed by Agents of SHIELD once Inhumans wraps its 8-season run). As word of Once Upon a Time‘s move to Friday nights began to spread, Oncers everywhere quickly took to social media to express their concerns over the show’s move to Friday night which has long been perceived to be the place where shows go to die. However, we’re here to ease your mind by shining a light on some of the many positives that could come from the show’s move to Friday nights.

In moving Once Upon a Time to Fridays, ABC will allow the show to become exposed to new potential viewers who otherwise may not tune in on Sunday nights due to the show’s former competition. Airing on Sunday nights, Once Upon a Time was forced to face off against NBC’s uber popular Sunday Night Football coverage – which won out in total viewers and in the demo every Sunday night during the NFL season – as well as a handful of strong competition in the form of the night’s scripted offerings and special events.

By moving the show to Friday night, Oncers will no longer have to choose between watching Once Upon a Time live or switching to NBC to watch their favorite teams face-off in primetime. Instead, we’ll be able to settle in after a hard week of work every Friday night with our favorite fairytale heroes on a night currently lacking in the fantasy drama department – another plus for the show.

And just like that, they were just stories again.

that's the last time we'll see them all together... I'm so sad

The storybook isn't closed on "Once Upon a Time," though the cast of characters will be changing.
ABC has renewed the fairy tale drama for a seventh season, which will see a major "reset" of the show. Star Jennifer Morrison already announced she isn't returning as Emma Swan for season 7, and now, more regulars are departing the show.
Creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz revealed in a statement that Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Jared Gilmore (Henry), Emilie de Ravin (Belle), and Rebecca Mader (Zelena) will not be returning.
Season 7 will reportedly focus on Lana Parrilla's Regina, Robert Carlyle's Rumplestiltskin, Colin O'Donoghue's Captain Hook (who married Emma in last week's episode), and two new characters played by Andrew J. West ("The Walking Dead") and 11-year-old Allison Fernandez ("Jane the Virgin"). They will be introduced in Sunday's two-hour Season 6 finale.

S6 finale promo!

After six seasons at the center of Once Upon a Time, Jennifer Morrison will exit the drama ahead of a potential seventh season, EW has learned.
Though Once Upon a Time has not yet been renewed — EW has heard it is a near-lock to return, with ABC expected to announce renewals and cancellations this week ahead of its upfront presentation — Morrison will not return as a series regular. “As I reached the end of my 6 year contract on ONCE UPON A TIME, I was faced with a significant decision. ABC, Eddy Kitsis, and Adam Horowitz very generously invited me to continue as a series regular. After very careful consideration, I have decided that creatively and personally, it is time for me to move on,” Morrison wrote in an announcement on Instagram. “Emma Swan is one my favorite characters that I have ever played. My 6 years on ONCE UPON A TIME has changed my life in the most beautiful ways. I am absolutely blown away by the passion and commitment of the Oncer fans. I am so honored to have been a central part of such a special show.”
